La pol\u00edtica, y la cr\u00edtica pol\u00edtica, parece desaparecer en el arte contempor\u00e1neo chino para dar paso a uno de los temas que est\u00e1 siempre por encima: los desastres naturales y nuestra identificaci\u00f3n como v\u00edctimas. Desde la espectacularidad las emociones parecen ser m\u00e1s grandes.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nLa Gran China nos abraza y nos protege del peligro. Esta es la narraci\u00f3n estrella que articula los discursos de los medios de comunicaci\u00f3n en el reino medio. La imagen de un pa\u00eds fuerte, hoy motor y ejemplo del mundo, no puede verse puesta en cuesti\u00f3n por la cr\u00edtica humana. Al contrario, el contrapoder a un poder tan magno s\u00f3lo puede corresponder a un agente de igual tama\u00f1o, los desastres naturales.<\/p>\n<p>Entendiendo que se ha alcanzado la edad de la sociedad harm\u00f3nica, en la que los esfuerzos y penurias de d\u00e9cadas pasadas son compensados con una fiebre consumista sin parang\u00f3n, desarticuladas quedan las posibilidades de imaginar cambios y protestas, dudas y puntualizaciones. Las opciones que desde el arte hay para crear im\u00e1genes que apelen a la diferencia pol\u00edtica son nulas.<\/p>\n<p>Si los dioses s\u00f3lo pueden batirse con titanes para librar una justa equilibrada, el pa\u00eds del tigre y el drag\u00f3n es hoy el escenario para la revisi\u00f3n de estos enfrentamientos. Al gran poder del pueblo unido s\u00f3lo le plantea dificultades el antojo de una tierra que no obedece a la necesidad de harmon\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p>La obra Hope tunnel (T\u00fanel de esperanza), del artista Zhang Huan, recuerda a los permanentes mensajes de lucha contra la adversidad natural que llenan la televisi\u00f3n. \u00c9sta se compone de los restos de un tren de mercanc\u00edas que fue atrapado por una avalancha en el terremoto de Sichuan en el a\u00f1o 2008. Los vagones, quemados en el incendio, llenan la sala grande del Ullens Center for Contemporary Art. Con luz tenue, el espectador camina entre las presencias que quedan de la cat\u00e1strofe. Es posible asomarse a los vagones, imaginando toda clase de horrores y angustias.<\/p>\n<p>Un escenario id\u00f3neo para apelar al recurso de la empat\u00eda popular con las v\u00edctimas, una est\u00e9tica nacionalista basada en el ascesis alcanzado por una naci\u00f3n que trabaja y se esfuerza unida. La espectacularidad de la pieza y del proceso de extracci\u00f3n y transporte del tren, as\u00ed como el tama\u00f1o del equipo y el personal implicado, visten el trabajo de odisea cuasi mitol\u00f3gica sobre la lucha del trabajador contra la naturaleza.<\/p>\n<p>El gran teatro que construye China encuentra, en cierta producci\u00f3n cultural contempor\u00e1nea que cuenta con el apremio del gobierno, un objeto edulcorado con el que presentar al turista el tecn\u00f3crata discurso oficial.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00bfUn nuevo papel para el arte en la identidad china?
