(&#8230;) I ara es <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><em>veuen tan ordenades que no ho s\u00e9&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong>Irene Sol\u00e0,<em> Notes on a novel<\/em>\u00a0<em>(that i am not <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong><em>going to write) or <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong><em>the swimming pool, or the <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong><em>hair, the herb and the bread or the <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong><em>tomato plant.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Els humans vivim, majorit\u00e0riament, damunt la superf\u00edcie terrestre. Puntualment ens capbussem sota l\u2019aigua, entrem a p\u00e0rquings, agafem metros, visitem algun soterrani o circulem per t\u00fanels, per\u00f2 acostumem a sortir-ne r\u00e0pid, cercant l\u2019oxigen i la llum. Tendim a oblidar el m\u00f3n subterrani -tal com a la llarga oblidem tot el que no veiem-, o b\u00e9 el titllem d\u2019obscur, no nom\u00e9s perqu\u00e8 \u00e9s fosc \u2013en un sentit literal\u2013, sin\u00f3 perqu\u00e8 ens resulta desconegut, i perqu\u00e8 potser d\u2019una forma instintiva el reconeixem com un lloc que pertany als morts.<\/p>\n<p>Entre tot el que hi ha sota terra i que tendim a oblidar, estan les forces tel\u00b7l\u00fariques. Energies provinents de capes fre\u00e0tiques, vetes minerals, zones magn\u00e8tiques, moviments tect\u00f2nics i aire ionitzat que, tot i no ser visibles, incideixen en la superf\u00edcie terrestre i en la vida que hi transcorre al damunt.<\/p>\n<p>No tothom ignora en el mateix grau aquestes forces. Hi ha professionals i aficionats que s\u2019hi han interessat molt, i tamb\u00e9 hi ha els islandesos, que no nom\u00e9s no les ignoren, sin\u00f3 que les reconeixen i les reivindiquen com un tret caracter\u00edstic i essencial de la seva terra i del que ells s\u00f3n. A banda dels islandesos, est\u00e0 tamb\u00e9 la literatura, que tant en les seves manifestacions orals tradicionals com tamb\u00e9 en molts dels seus g\u00e8neres escrits ha abra\u00e7at aquestes forces, personificant-les com a \u00e9ssers m\u00e0gics, interpretant-les des del subconscient o descrivint-les com a forces sobrenaturals, entre altres coses.<\/p>\n<p>I dins la literatura destaquen autors com Irene Sol\u00e0, que ha sabut construir, amb un talent desbordant, relats en qu\u00e8 es conjuguen d\u2019una manera po\u00e8tica i punyent les forces subterr\u00e0nies amb la vida a la superf\u00edcie, les influ\u00e8ncies m\u00e0giques amb l\u2019esdevenir ordinari, l\u2019energia dels vius amb la dels morts, i la dels personatges animals amb la dels animals no-humans. Tot aix\u00f2 es fa pal\u00e8s en els seus tres llibres publicats: el poemari biling\u00fce <em>B\u00e8stia\/Beast<\/em> (Galerada, 2012), la novel\u00b7la <em>Els dics<\/em>(L\u2019Altra Editorial, 2018) i, de manera m\u00e9s manifesta, en el seu t\u00edtol m\u00e9s premiat i conegut, <em>Canto jo i la muntanya balla\u00a0<\/em>(Anagrama, 2019). Per\u00f2 tamb\u00e9 es fa marcadament present en el seu projecte metaliterari <em>Notes on a novel (that i am not going to write) or the swimming pool, or the hair, the herb and the bread or the tomato plant<\/em>, el qual, tot i estar <em>en l\u00ednia<\/em> i ser de lliure acc\u00e9s<a href=\"applewebdata:\/\/77B1ADAF-745F-45A9-9AA2-3F7E81BD9DD6#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a>, \u00e9s for\u00e7a menys conegut que els seus altres t\u00edtols, potser pel fet d\u2019haver-se desenvolupat en l\u2019\u00e0mbit de les arts visuals contempor\u00e0nies<a href=\"applewebdata:\/\/77B1ADAF-745F-45A9-9AA2-3F7E81BD9DD6#_ftn2\" name=\"_ftnref2\">[2]<\/a>, en general m\u00e9s minoritari que el de la literatura.<\/p>\n<p><em>Notes on a novel<\/em> cont\u00e9 tots els trets que caracteritzen l\u2019estil i els interessos literaris de Sol\u00e0, per\u00f2 t\u00e9 la particularitat que, a m\u00e9s, \u00e9s un relat (o m\u00e9s aviat, un metarelat) situat a Isl\u00e0ndia, una illa on, en una manifestaci\u00f3 espectacular de les forces tel\u00b7l\u00fariques, el subs\u00f2l es fa present a la superf\u00edcie de la terra, sigui d\u2019una manera constant o espor\u00e0dica, harm\u00f2nica o accidental, en forma de gu\u00e8isers, piscines naturals calentes, explosions de sulfur i erupcions volc\u00e0niques.<\/p>\n<p>Podr\u00edem afirmar, doncs, que <em>Notes on a novel<\/em> \u00e9s un text tel\u00b7l\u00faric al quadrat. O fins i tot, c\u00fabic, amb un tel\u00b7lurisme en tercer grau, perqu\u00e8 en la seva naturalesa metaliter\u00e0ria fa expl\u00edcites les intencions de la seva autora, les relacions \u2013ficcionalitzades\u2013 entre les seves viv\u00e8ncies personals i la manera de narrar-les, l\u2019estructura del relat en tant que constructe; tot el que, en definitiva, normalment recorre una novel\u00b7la de manera subterr\u00e0nia, sense que arribi a manifestar-se a la superf\u00edcie del text.<\/p>\n<p><em>Notes on a novel<\/em>, tal com el seu t\u00edtol suggereix, no \u00e9s de fet una novel\u00b7la, sin\u00f3 un projecte literari conformat pel conjunt m\u00faltiple i variat de les notes que haurien de servir a l\u2019autora per escriure-la. I tot i que ja en el mateix t\u00edtol Sol\u00e0 ens anuncia que no l\u2019escriur\u00e0 pas \u2013<em>Notes on a novel (that I am not going to write)<\/em>\u2013, ir\u00f2nicament, al llarg d\u2019aquest exercici metareferencial, aquesta novel\u00b7la suposadament no escrita va construint-se, a partir de fragments i d\u2019omissions, s\u00ed, per\u00f2 d\u2019una manera tan s\u00f2lida i rica que, en arribar al final (el cap\u00edtol titulat metareferencialment \u201cEl gran final\u201d), el lector t\u00e9 ben b\u00e9 la sensaci\u00f3 d\u2019haver-la llegit i d\u2019haver-ne format part. Sol\u00e0 la defineix com \u201cun projecte sobre escriptura en la contemporane\u00eftat digital, perqu\u00e8 totes les notes per aquesta novel\u00b7la s\u2019escriuran <em>online<\/em> en un Google Drive p\u00fablic\u201d. I tamb\u00e9, com \u201cuna meta-novel\u00b7la feta de tots els fragments, di\u00e0legs, material descartat, notes, llistes d\u2019idees, etc. que no han estat trenades\u201d, un plantejament que tamb\u00e9 remet al subs\u00f2l i al que \u00e9s tel\u00b7l\u00faric, on es concentra tot el que enterrem, tot el que no germina per\u00f2 que nodreix altres coses que creixen, totes les forces i energies latents que no arriben a emergir, i tamb\u00e9 aquelles que ho fan d\u2019una manera accidentada, o massa abstracte, o massa inconscient per a qu\u00e8 puguem fer-les nostres, per exemple a trav\u00e9s d\u2019una novel\u00b7la. Es tracta tamb\u00e9 d\u2019un relat intertextual i hipertextual, perqu\u00e8 entre aquestes notes s\u2019hi inclouen fotografies, enlla\u00e7os a altres relats, can\u00e7ons i v\u00eddeos musicals d\u2019Internet, captures de pantalla amb e-mails, fragments de guies tur\u00edstiques, de relats d\u2019altres autors i poemes, en una refer\u00e8ncia i un reconeixement a totes aquelles energies i forces que inspiren qualsevol acte creatiu, i que hi conviuen i en formen part sense que habitualment siguin referenciades d\u2019una manera expl\u00edcita.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"applewebdata:\/\/77B1ADAF-745F-45A9-9AA2-3F7E81BD9DD6#_ftnref1\" name=\"_ftn1\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"895\" height=\"579\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-28345\" src=\"http:\/\/a-desk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/IMATGE-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/a-desk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/IMATGE-2.jpg 895w, https:\/\/a-desk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/IMATGE-2-768x497.jpg 768w, https:\/\/a-desk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/IMATGE-2-595x385.jpg 595w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 895px) 100vw, 895px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>En una entrevista, referint-se a <em>Canto jo i la muntanya balla<\/em>, Irene Sol\u00e0 afirmava que li interessava imaginar-se un territori cobert de capes, \u201ccom si tot el que hi ha passat deix\u00e9s un rastre\u00a0<a href=\"applewebdata:\/\/600A7DFB-527F-4FF7-A637-39884848823E#_ftnref3\" name=\"_ftn3\">[3]<\/a><a href=\"applewebdata:\/\/10EC8185-32F3-46B2-9956-8DDB80B2A0AE#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\"><\/a>\u201d, i aix\u00f2 \u00e9s tamb\u00e9 del tot aplicable a <em>Notes on a novel<\/em>, un projecte que pren com a punt de partida dos viatges que l\u2019autora va fer a Isl\u00e0ndia. Al text, les experi\u00e8ncies del primer viatge conformen les del segon, i alhora, el segon viatge \u00e9s una recerca dels rastres deixats en el primer, com si la primera incursi\u00f3 a l\u2019illa fos el substrat de la segona i al mateix temps aquest segon viatge nodr\u00eds el primer i li don\u00e9s sentit. A vegades, els dos viatges se solapen i trenquen la cronologia dels anys que els separen, igual que un volc\u00e0 fa emergir les energies tect\u00f2niques de temps remots (\u201c<em>I quan vam travessar el nord amb O, anys despr\u00e9s, o anys abans, o en un espai temporal diferent, o en una l\u00ednia temporal paral\u00b7lela, i el sol no es ponia mai\u201d). <\/em>No hi ha, doncs, una evoluci\u00f3 cronol\u00f2gica r\u00edgida. La narraci\u00f3 s\u2019interromp constantment amb anotacions i al\u00b7lusions al present en qu\u00e8 s\u2019est\u00e0 desenvolupant l\u2019exercici d\u2019escriptura. Hi ha, a m\u00e9s, par\u00e0grafs que es repeteixen i refer\u00e8ncies que ressonen les unes en les altres, provocant ecos i moviments circulars, com s\u00f3n circulars els dos viatges que l\u2019autora fa al voltant d\u2019Isl\u00e0ndia, a trav\u00e9s d\u2019una carretera que permet donar tota la volta a l\u2019illa. Experi\u00e8ncies i personatges del viatge primer emergeixen i es reactiven en el segon, a vegades d\u2019una forma quasi m\u00e0gica, talment com forces subterr\u00e0nies que afloressin a la superf\u00edcie.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"522\" height=\"758\" class=\"size-full wp-image-28348 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/a-desk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/IMATGE-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/a-desk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/IMATGE-1.jpg 522w, https:\/\/a-desk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/IMATGE-1-275x400.jpg 275w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 522px) 100vw, 522px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>S\u00ed que hi ha, en canvi, un sentit de verticalitat, de relaci\u00f3 entre el que est\u00e0 a sobre i el que \u00e9s a sota, que ens remet de nou a les capes i als substrats, i que ens retorna a les forces tel\u00b7l\u00fariques, a la seva manera de relacionar el dalt i el baix, el dins i el fora. A <em>Notes on a novel<\/em> aquest moviment vertical, d\u2019ascens i descens, es manifesta en un conjunt d\u2019objectes, imatges i fen\u00f2mens suggerents, com ara tobogans foscos plens d\u2019estrelles, piscines naturals d\u2019aigua freda i aigua calenta, volcans, muntanyes altes, i tamb\u00e9 estels fuga\u00e7os que cauen a la terra des del cel; elements expulsats del subs\u00f2l i de l\u2019espai exterior, i enmig d\u2019aquests, la superf\u00edcie de la terra, a una illa als confins del nostre continent.<\/p>\n<p>A banda d\u2019aquestes estructures \u201ctel\u00b7l\u00farico liter\u00e0ries\u201d, a <em>Notes on a novel<\/em> hi abunden, tamb\u00e9, forces tel\u00b7l\u00fariques expl\u00edcites: aig\u00fces sulfurades, falles tect\u00f2niques, moviments volc\u00e0nics&#8230;. I tamb\u00e9 forces m\u00e0giques: fantasmes, follets, malediccions&#8230;, que b\u00e9 podrien ser una traducci\u00f3 narrativa de les primeres, i que en un dels elements que articulen el projecte literari \u2013el mapa que l\u2019autora omple d\u2019anotacions i envia a O, a qui estima\u2013, hi apareixen referenciats a zones geogr\u00e0fiques concretes (\u201c<em>Zona d\u2019Isl\u00e0ndia on no pots anar* perqu\u00e8 est\u00e0 plena de hulduf\u00f3lk (gent amagada), fantasmes, jar\u00f0vergar (gnoms), \u00e1lfar (elfs), lj\u00f3s\u00e1lfar (fades), dvergar (nans), jl\u00faflingar (amants), t\u00edvar (esperits de la muntanya) i englar (\u00e1ngels)\u201d). <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Irene Sol\u00e0 parla tamb\u00e9 de <em>Notes on a novel<\/em> com \u201cun projecte sobre llavors que no creixen, o sobre plantar un pomer i que surti una tomaquera\u201d, com \u201cuna novel\u00b7la que no ha estat escrita i tot el que hagu\u00e9s pogut ser\u201d, i la seva descripci\u00f3 denota una forma modesta de situar-se a la superf\u00edcie terrestre, una manera de recon\u00e8ixer les forces del subs\u00f2l i el fet que aquestes dialoguen i fins i tot discrepen amb les voluntats humanes. \u00c9s interessant pensar que a un dels llocs que Sol\u00e0 referencia a <em>Notes on a novel<\/em>, la planura islandesa de <em>\u00deingvellir<\/em>, es fund\u00e0 el primer parlament del m\u00f3n. Situada a la conjunci\u00f3 de dues grans plaques continentals, entre els oceans \u00c0rtic i Atl\u00e0ntic, aquesta planura \u00e9s un dels llocs on les energies tel\u00b7l\u00fariques es manifesten amb m\u00e9s intensitat. Els primers debats que els humans van fer, doncs, devien estar marcats per aquesta mateixa mod\u00e8stia de Sol\u00e0, per una consci\u00e8ncia del subs\u00f2l, de les fissures, de la condici\u00f3 inestable de les superf\u00edcies.
