Darrere de la paret blanca, en sobrepassar una porta verda, apareix un jard\u00ed frond\u00f3s que est\u00e0 a punt de convertir-se en bosc. Alguns animals habiten aquest jard\u00ed: hi ha panteres clapejades, arbres vells i foscos, sumptuosos bancs de marbre, est\u00e0tues, coloms, llorers, algunes cotorres i un rellotge de sol tra\u00e7at amb flors. Un cop dins, la imatge de la ciutat es difumina fins a desapar\u00e8ixer del tot. \u201cSempre, davant de la imatge, estem davant del temps\u201d, ens diu Georges Didi-Huberman. \u201cPer\u00f2 quina mena de temps? de quines plasticitats i de quines fractures, de quins ritmes i de quins cops de temps es pot tractar en aquesta obertura de la imatge?\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Aquesta imatge d&#8217;obertura amb qu\u00e8 s&#8217;obre el text \u00e9s, en realitat, la descripci\u00f3 del jard\u00ed narrat per H. G. Wells <em>a The Door in the Wall<\/em>. El protagonista del conte, un tal Lionel Wallace, narra la seva experi\u00e8ncia en un jard\u00ed on accedeix a trav\u00e9s d&#8217;una porta verda. Dins el jard\u00ed, Wallace <em>viu un retorn a la llar<\/em>; cada vegada que entra, perd completament la refer\u00e8ncia del temps, que s&#8217;atura, s&#8217;alenteix, torna enrere i s&#8217;enreda. En canvi, en sortir tot continua exactament igual. Novament, impera el soroll, l&#8217;acceleraci\u00f3 i la urg\u00e8ncia: el temps camina vertiginosament cap endavant. Tot i aix\u00f2, Wallace sap que, darrere la porta, el temps governa amb les seves pr\u00f2pies lleis i que, al jard\u00ed, altres temporalitats s\u00f3n possibles.<\/p>\n<p>Com passa al relat, el jard\u00ed t\u00e9 la capacitat de despla\u00e7ar, distorsionar i fins i tot suspendre el temps. El jard\u00ed lluita amb i contra el temps, d&#8217;aqu\u00ed ve la seva radical anacronia i el seu vibrant car\u00e0cter heterocr\u00f2nic. Certament, com planteja Lorette Coen, &#8220;els jardins s\u00f3n l&#8217;art del temps&#8221;. Al jard\u00ed es fa fallida la temporalitat lineal: el temps es desdobla, es plega i es trenca. El jard\u00ed com a art, tal com proposa Javier Maderuelo, \u00e9s un lloc constru\u00eft per l&#8217;home per esdevenir llar, per\u00f2 alhora sempre comporta un car\u00e0cter centr\u00edfug: estimula les \u00e0nsies d&#8217;habitar un m\u00f3n millor i alhora les nostres fantasies escapistes. Si Foucault definia el jard\u00ed com un espai heterot\u00f2pic \u2014com un lloc fora de tot lloc\u2014, Jean Fisher expressa la poderosa heterocronia i anacronia que travessa al jard\u00ed quan afirma que aquest sempre \u201c\u00e9s un temps fora del temps [\u2026] aquest estat momentani de suspensi\u00f3, on les limitacions del pensament institucionalitzat es dissolen i deixen pas al joc d&#8217;altres possibilitats imaginatives i, fins aleshores, inimaginables, del jo, de la realitat\u201d.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_35361\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-35361\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-35361 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/a-desk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Claude-Monet.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"777\" srcset=\"https:\/\/a-desk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Claude-Monet.jpg 800w, https:\/\/a-desk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Claude-Monet-412x400.jpg 412w, https:\/\/a-desk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Claude-Monet-768x746.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-35361\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Claude Monet, Les Nymph\u00e9as Blancs, 1899<\/p><\/div>\n<p>De la m\u00e0 del jard\u00ed, les preocupacions de la curadoria contempor\u00e0nia s&#8217;orienten cap a la recerca d&#8217;una interrelaci\u00f3 simbi\u00f2tica entre les obres i tamb\u00e9 entre aquestes i el visitant: un temps compartit. D&#8217;aquesta manera, l&#8217;heterocronia, quan t\u00e9 lloc, cobra vida com un sentit o experi\u00e8ncia de l&#8217;obra comuna, articulada entre artista i espectador: com un jard\u00ed que sempre es mant\u00e9 obert i plural, com un jard\u00ed per trobar. En aquest jard\u00ed, la identitat es dilueix i passa a formar part de l&#8217;entorn. El visitant es fon i confon amb els arbres i les flors, amb les ombres que l&#8217;abracen i les branques que s&#8217;entrellacen amb el cos. Deixa de ser amo, per un temps, del seu temps, de si mateix, per comen\u00e7ar a viure, com proposava Horaci, <em>en un dol\u00e7 engany<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>D&#8217;aquesta manera, no \u00e9s equ\u00edvoc afirmar que el jard\u00ed \u00e9s, o pot arribar a ser \u2014<em>ha d&#8217;arribar a ser<\/em>\u2014, un lloc perp\u00e8tuament anacr\u00f2nic, dislocat i desencaixat \u2014en tant que <em>refugi<\/em> on tornar, <em>retorn a la llar<\/em>\u2014 i tamb\u00e9 un espai per habitar la m\u00e9s enrevessada i excitant heterocronia: la cohabitaci\u00f3 i confusi\u00f3 de temporalitats m\u00faltiples. L&#8217;art pot<\/p>\n<p>\u2014<em>ha de<\/em>\u2014, jugar amb aquesta possibilitat per tal de construir ficcions poderoses on tot transcorri sota unes coordenades espai-temporals in\u00e8dites, on l&#8217;individu s&#8217;entrellaci amb l&#8217;entorn i es perdi a trav\u00e9s del temps. De vegades, certament, aix\u00ed passa; d&#8217;altres nom\u00e9s \u201ces disfressa de jard\u00ed\u201d per servir de decorat, per divertir i sorprendre l&#8217;espectador que <em>est\u00e0 de pas<\/em>o que pret\u00e9n gaudir d&#8217;una <em>experi\u00e8ncia immersiva<\/em> sota l&#8217;aparen\u00e7a de la novetat.<\/p>\n<p>Em ve, per exemple, al cap la mostra <em>TeatroJard\u00edn Bestiarium<\/em> (1989). Comissariada per Chris Dercon, es va articular amb la voluntat de superar la noci\u00f3 tradicional d&#8217;exposici\u00f3 col\u00b7lectiva en qu\u00e8 els artistes presenten les obres per separat, per refor\u00e7ar la permeabilitat del com\u00fa, emfatitzant aix\u00ed l&#8217;exist\u00e8ncia d&#8217;un nexe flexible i obert que permet\u00e9s veritablement a l&#8217;espectador participar en aquell <em>jard\u00ed per trobar<\/em>. Moltes vegades passa que el jard\u00ed s&#8217;afebleix: \u00fanicament se&#8217;n preserva l&#8217;aparen\u00e7a enjardinada, acolorida i brillant. Com critica Rosario Assunto a <em>Ontolog\u00eda i teleolog\u00eda del jard\u00ed<\/em>, l&#8217;utilitarisme cec acaba per arru\u00efnar i destruir els jardins. Moltes vegades, a l&#8217;art contemporani, proliferen aquests <em>pseudojardins<\/em> que es disfressen d&#8217;<em>espais altres<\/em>, per\u00f2 que estan destinats al consum i a l&#8217;entreteniment. \u201cA qui va dirigit el jard\u00ed quan la cultura ja s&#8217;ha erigit com el gran parc global?\u201d, es pregunta Jorge Luis Marzo.<\/p>\n<p>Resulta simptom\u00e0tic rellegir <em>Est\u00e9tica relacional<\/em> (1998), de Nicolas Bourriaud, i comprovar com, quan es fa al\u00b7lusi\u00f3 al jard\u00ed, \u00e9s per referir-se a la capacitat d&#8217;esdevenir decorat. Aix\u00ed, tracta sobre el jard\u00ed per justificar la premissa que l&#8217;exposici\u00f3 s&#8217;ha convertit en la unitat de base, en detriment de l&#8217;obra individual, i per argumentar el suposat canvi de paradigma de \u201cl&#8217;exposici\u00f3-botiga\u201d a \u201cl&#8217;exposici\u00f3- decorat\u201d. \u00c9s llavors quan treu a la llum l&#8217;exposici\u00f3 <em>Jard\u00ed d&#8217;hivern<\/em> (1975) de Marcel Broodthaers, que el mateix artista havia concebut com a <em>esb\u00f3s de la idea de decorat<\/em>. En realitat, \u00fanicament pretenc evidenciar el car\u00e0cter pervers que moltes vegades comporta \u201chabitar\u201d, \u201ccrear\u201d, \u201cactivar\u201d o \u201creivindicar\u201d el jard\u00ed, sigui de la m\u00e0 de l&#8217;artista o del comissari de torn. En molts d&#8217;aquests casos, l&#8217;heterocronia es difumina, s&#8217;aplana i s&#8217;apaga, com aquell <em>temps homogeni i buit<\/em> de qu\u00e8 parlava Benjamin, i l&#8217;anacronisme, la capacitat d&#8217;escapar del temps, del m\u00f3n, i tornar a l&#8217;origen, es converteix en una <em>experi\u00e8ncia divertida<\/em>, que ens deixa un regust reconfortant per una estona, com una refrescant beguda gasosa.<\/p>\n<p>Aquesta nova condici\u00f3 del jard\u00ed al servei de l&#8217;\u201cexperi\u00e8ncia\u201d nega la veritable ontologia del jard\u00ed com a espai-temps on tot pot passar i res est\u00e0 dit a priori \u2014on el temps lineal s&#8217;enreda i es fa fallida\u2014. Quan el jard\u00ed apareix com a decorat i fetitxe de la natura, com a simulacre alienant, s&#8217;ofereix c\u00f2mplice d&#8217;un tipus de proposta art\u00edstica destinada al consum solipsista. Sota l&#8217;atenta tutela d&#8217;aquell <em>artista relacional<\/em> que invocava Bourriaud, el jard\u00ed cultivat cobra, lamentablement, l&#8217;estatus d&#8217;un jard\u00ed policial on, sense necessitat de fer-se expl\u00edcites, les ordres ja estan sempre donades, com \u201cun lloc on un jardiner controla les jous i plantes nocives i direcciona el creixement cap a formes pietoses i meravelloses\u201d, tal com assenyala Martha Rosler.
