Ara que tinc un peu a l\u2019Acad\u00e8mia, respecto i admiro entre tanta jerarquia als qui fan la revoluci\u00f3 des de dins i s\u00f3n radicals en la seva recerca i ensenyament. McKenzie Wark es presenta com a \u201cicona de la teoria, marxista dolenta i amena\u00e7a transsexual\u201d amb aquestes etiquetes imparteix classes d&#8217;Estudis Culturals i Mitjans de comunicaci\u00f3 al Lang College de la New School for Social Research de Nova York. He buscat a Google Maps la ubicaci\u00f3 de l\u2019escola (d\u2019altra banda, quina fantasia d\u2019estudis superiors tenen als <em>States<\/em>) i est\u00e0 situada al campus de Greenwich Village a la populosa illa de Manhattan a 2 h i 30 minuts aproximadament caminant i 50 minuts amb cotxe del barri de Bushwick, Brooklyn, on est\u00e0 localitzat el seu llibre <em>RAVING<\/em> una autoficci\u00f3 que ha resultat ser tot un \u00e8xit, tal com ho va ser la seva anterior publicaci\u00f3 <em>Reverse Cowgirl<\/em>, La Caja Negra, 2022, on aprofundia en les connexions entre transicionar i anar a una rave. En una entrevista recent Wark deia el seg\u00fcent: \u201cVaig tornar a les raves despr\u00e9s de la transici\u00f3 perqu\u00e8 continuava tenint una disf\u00f2ria molt difusa, que no se situava en cap lloc espec\u00edfic del meu cos. Per aix\u00f2 no em vaig plantejar rec\u00f3rrer a la cirurgia; podria operar-me la cara o les tetes, per\u00f2 no em faria sentir millor. A altres persones els funciona, per\u00f2 a mi el que m&#8217;ajuda \u00e9s ballar\u201d. Un concepte d&#8217;inter\u00e8s sobre el qual va reflexionant a trav\u00e9s d&#8217;aquests llibres \u00e9s sobre continuar posant el focus despr\u00e9s de m\u00e9s de trenta anys d&#8217;hist\u00f2ria dins de la m\u00fasica electr\u00f2nica en el tecno, aquest <em>beat<\/em> que mai mor, assimilant una sort de temps oblic que t\u00e9 a veure amb una sensaci\u00f3 d&#8217;experimentaci\u00f3 que comporta el fet <em>trans<\/em> \u201cperqu\u00e8 moltes persones trans no esperen viure molt de temps, i aix\u00f2 et dona una percepci\u00f3 molt diferent de la temporalitat\u201d diu. El temps post pand\u00e8mia \u00e9s una altra manera d&#8217;entendre el llibre i tornar a abra\u00e7ar les reunions i el ball tal com la generaci\u00f3 de Wark ho feia als anys noranta. Per a la comunitat trans i <em>trans-friendly<\/em> de Brooklyn, aquestes antigues naus industrials amb \u201cllum <em>\u00e0lien<\/em>\u201d gentrificades per a la festa i les cultures de la nit se succeeixen com un abric, \u201cun refugi en el qual poder ballar i improvisar, fins i tot quan tot al nostre voltant conspira contra qualsevol imatge positiva de futur\u201d.
