{"id":72345,"date":"2025-11-28T07:12:22","date_gmt":"2025-11-28T06:12:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/a-desk.org\/?p=72345"},"modified":"2026-02-19T12:49:11","modified_gmt":"2026-02-19T11:49:11","slug":"the-positive-deviance-of-queer-culture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/a-desk.org\/ca\/magazine\/the-positive-deviance-of-queer-culture\/","title":{"rendered":"La desviaci\u00f3 (positiva) de la cultura cuir"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Havent crescut al L\u00edban als anys noranta, sovint em trobava amb les paraules <em>sh\u0101dh.a <\/em>o <em>mon\u1e25arif.a<\/em> quan llegia els subt\u00edtols en \u00e0rab de pel\u00b7l\u00edcules o s\u00e8ries estrangeres. Com a filoling\u00fce molt jove, tenia el costum d\u2019agafar el diccionari pesant de la prestatgeria i fullejar-lo per buscar el significat de les paraules que em trobava. Sorprenentment, tots dos adjectius es referien a una persona desviada, irregular, estranya, exc\u00e8ntrica, etc. Amb el temps vaig fer la connexi\u00f3: aquestes paraules s\u2019utilitzaven espec\u00edficament com a traducci\u00f3 a l\u2019\u00e0rab de \u201cgai\u201d o \u201clesbiana\u201d. Aquest fenomen no es limitava als subt\u00edtols al peu de la pantalla, sin\u00f3 que s\u2019escolava en les converses quotidianes arreu del m\u00f3n arab\u00f2fones: les persones gais s\u00f3n desviades.<\/p>\n<p>Era comprensible que la comunitat LGTBIQ+ se sent\u00eds inc\u00f2moda amb aquesta terminologia. Despr\u00e9s d\u2019anys de campanyes de sensibilitzaci\u00f3 i pressi\u00f3 pol\u00edtica, <em>sh\u0101dh.a<\/em> i <em>mon\u1e25arif.a<\/em> van desapareixer a poc a poc dels subt\u00edtols que reposaven al marge inferior de les pantalles, i van ser substitu\u00efdes progressivament pel terme pol\u00edticament correcte <em>mithl\u012b<\/em> (orientat cap al mateix). Jo, com a jove gai, tamb\u00e9 estava indignat; no volia que m\u2019anomenessin desviat. Recordo haver de corregir els meus pares en diverses ocasions i insistir en el terme \u201ccorrecte\u201d per referir-se a alg\u00fa gai, molt abans fins i tot de sortir de l\u2019armari.<\/p>\n<p>El 2024 vaig publicar un compendi d\u2019argot cuir \u00e0rab titulat <a href=\"https:\/\/saqibooks.com\/books\/saqi\/the-queer-arab-glossary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>The Queer Arab Glossary<\/em><\/a>\u00a0(<em>El glossari cuir \u00e0rab<\/em>) (Saqi Books). El llibre recull les paraules i expressions utilitzades a tot el m\u00f3n arab\u00f2fon per referir-se a alg\u00fa que \u00e9s o \u00e9s percebut com a cuir, de manera tant afectuosa com pejorativa. Quan el meu llibre va sortir, el genocidi a Gaza estava\u00a0 en marxa, la pol\u00edtica identit\u00e0ria agonitzava, i el capitalisme havia absorbit tota l\u2019energia radical del discurs cuir. En aquell moment, vaig viatjar arreu del m\u00f3n durant tres mesos per presentar el llibre i dialogar amb p\u00fablics diversos i vaig sentir com la meva pr\u00f2pia posici\u00f3 es despla\u00e7ava. Ja no em reconeixia en els termes pels quals hav\u00edem lluitat tant per adoptar i, en canvi, m\u2019atreien gai, o fins i tot marica. Ja no volia formar part del mainstream cuir, perqu\u00e8 semblava un altre tentacle d\u2019aquest m\u00f3n malalt que havia decidit abandonar. No vull la norma, ni vull assimilar-me. Vull sobresortir, com una espina clavada al costat, vull ser un desviat.<\/p>\n<p>Demanem un immens deute de gratitud a la desviaci\u00f3 del discurs cuir. No al que canvia l\u2019avatar a les xarxes socials per incloure una bandera d\u2019arc de Sant Mart\u00ed, sin\u00f3 al que sacseja la societat fins al moll de l\u2019os i l\u2019obliga a mirar-se de cara el seu propi prejudici i la seva hipocresia.<\/p>\n<p>Vivinm un cap\u00edtol fosc i decisiu de la hist\u00f2ria, especialment al Pr\u00f2xim Orient, la regi\u00f3 que jo anomeno casa. Mentre les forces sionistes, amb el suport total dels Estats Units i la Uni\u00f3 Europea, desfermen una viol\u00e8ncia b\u00e0rbara sobre el meu poble i la seva terra, vaig decidir presentar textos de quatre veus cuir d\u2019aquesta mateixa terra, amb l\u2019intent de ressituar el discurs cuir en la seva postura radical leg\u00edtima.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/a-desk.org\/ca\/magazine\/takweer-archive-as-world-making\/\">A Takweer: l\u2019arxiu com a creador de mons<\/a><\/em>, la Dra. Sophie Chamas explora la pr\u00e0ctica arxiv\u00edstica cuir \u00e0rab de Takweer com una manera de desafiar la separaci\u00f3 for\u00e7ada entre estranyesa i arabitat. Mentrestant, Yasmine Rifai i Nadim Choufi reflexionen sobre la seva antologia recentment publicada d\u2019art cuir \u00e0rab titulada <em>I Will Always Be Looking For You <\/em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/a-desk.org\/ca\/magazine\/i-will-always-be-looking-for-you\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Sempre estar\u00e9 cercant-te<\/em><\/a>). El seu llibre potent no pret\u00e9n saber com es veu la nostra estranyesa \u00e0rab, sin\u00f3 que busca i busca i busca, a trav\u00e9s de vint-i-dues contribucions sobre trenta-un artistes.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/a-desk.org\/ca\/magazine\/faggety-fag-dreams-between-thieves-street-and-lazarus-gate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Somnis maricas entre el carrer dels Lladres i la Porta de Ll\u00e0tzer<\/em><\/a>, l\u2019escriptora i traductora Rana Issa imagina una utopia cuir obstinada a destruir el feixisme mentre alhora es complau en la seva desviaci\u00f3 il\u00b7limitada. Finalment, tanco el mes amb un text titulat <em><a href=\"https:\/\/a-desk.org\/ca\/magazine\/its-a-strange-moment-to-be-arab\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Intenta no ofegar-te quan pronuncies la meva llengua. Intenta-ho, yalla<\/a>.<\/em> Encara que no contempla expl\u00edcitament la cuiritat, esbrina com Occident ha instrumentalitzat el text i la imatge per construir una idea de l\u2019\u201c\u00e0rab\u201d en la psique de les masses; i com aquesta idea es mou i s\u2019adapta per jugar diversos papers propagand\u00edstics, un dels quals \u00e9s el de l\u2019\u00e0rab hom\u00f2fob, una mentida que fins i tot alguns \u00e0rabs s\u2019han empassat.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c9s en la nostra pr\u00f2pia desviaci\u00f3 on es mant\u00e9 l\u2019alliberaci\u00f3 cuir. \u00c9s en la desviaci\u00f3 de les persones oprimides, siguin qui siguin, on se sost\u00e9 l\u2019alliberaci\u00f3 col\u00b7lectiva. El p\u00e0nic moral no \u00e9s res m\u00e9s que una cortina de fum. En aquests moments en qu\u00e8 l\u2019horror \u00e9s palpable, no hem de deixar espai per a l\u2019ambig\u00fcitat.
