De la m\u00e0 de Matreyi Maheshwari, comiss\u00e0ria responsable del programa d&#8217;activitats de la <a href=\" http:\/\/www.zabludowiczcollection.com\/london\">Zabludowicz Collection a Londres<\/a>, fa cinc anys que la galeria acudeix a Goldsmiths, The Royal College of Art i Chelsea College of Art per exposar un projecte conjunt. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zabludowiczcollection.com\/london\/exhibitions\/testing-ground-disappearing-into-one\">Testing Ground<\/a> reuneix un grup de joves estudiants de m\u00e0ster en comissariat que treballen durant tres mesos sota tutela de l&#8217;equip curatorial de la galeria en la creaci\u00f3 de tots els aspectes d&#8217;una exposici\u00f3.<\/p>\n<p>Aquest any, explica Matreyi Maheshwari, s&#8217;ha optat per consolidar <em>Testing Ground<\/em> dins el programa de la galeria. S&#8217;ha redu\u00eft el nombre de participants, de trenta a deu; s&#8217;ha est\u00e8s el per\u00edode d&#8217;exposici\u00f3 a dues setmanes i s&#8217;ha atorgat tot l&#8217;espai de la galeria als estudiants. A canvi, una \u00fanica condici\u00f3: l&#8217;exposici\u00f3 havia de ser unit\u00e0ria. Deu joves comissaris havien de fondre les seves idees en una.<\/p>\n<p>Recent aterrada a Londres, vaig decidir participar en el projecte despr\u00e9s de la presentaci\u00f3 de Maitreyi Maheshwari. A la selecci\u00f3 dels candidats, es van identificar interessos comuns: con\u00e8ixer la col\u00b7lecci\u00f3, treballar en un projecte col\u00b7laboratiu i experimentar amb la participaci\u00f3 del p\u00fablic. Despr\u00e9s d&#8217;un primer recorregut per l&#8217;espai, el grup va comen\u00e7ar a delimitar un camp de sentit: conceptes com il\u00b7lusi\u00f3, percepci\u00f3 i experi\u00e8ncia resultaven estimulants per a tots. La paraula que sostenia inicialment aquest camp sem\u00e0ntic era prestidigitaci\u00f3.<\/p>\n<p>Se&#8217;ns va facilitar un document d&#8217;unes tres-centes p\u00e0gines, amb al voltant de 1800 obres, totes elles amb una breu descripci\u00f3 i una discreta fotografia. Com comprendre aquesta infinita col\u00b7lecci\u00f3? La nostra \u00fanica opci\u00f3 va ser seleccionar intu\u00eftivament artistes i t\u00edtols, que semblaven albirar el nostre concepte, encara amorf. Algunes setmanes despr\u00e9s, vam lliurar a Maitreyi una llista amb les obres escollides. No es va tractar d\u2019una indagaci\u00f3 te\u00f2rica sobre el concepte el que ens va permetre la selecci\u00f3, sin\u00f3 la suma de les intu\u00efcions de cada un, materialitzada en discussions interminables. Aquests debats i el fet que s&#8217;hagin produ\u00eft canvis sense parar va resultar en un proc\u00e9s esgotador, per\u00f2 productiu.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;altra gran dificultat ha estat generar un llenguatge i un discurs n\u00edtid. Els primers textos eren pretensiosos i els conceptes apareixien embrollats. Finalment vam arribar a depurar el discurs; vam substituir la paraula prestidigitaci\u00f3 pel terme gest de m\u00e0gia, &#8220;sleight of hand&#8221;. La relaci\u00f3 amb la nostra mentora, Maitreyi, ha resultat decisiva perqu\u00e8 el projecte arrib\u00e9s a bon port. Com m\u00e0xima responsable, ha orquestrat el grup, amb paci\u00e8ncia, entrega i un alt nivell d&#8217;exig\u00e8ncia.<\/p>\n<p>Vam apostar per anar m\u00e9s enll\u00e0 de la col\u00b7lecci\u00f3 i presentar artistes externs la pr\u00e0ctica dels quals estigu\u00e9s relacionada amb el nostre concepte. Vam seleccionar algunes de les seves obres recents i vam proposar-los a alguns que creessin una pe\u00e7a per a l&#8217;espai. Ha estat una gran oportunitat per establir un di\u00e0leg de qualitat amb artistes com Oliver Lee Terry, Nicole Bachmann, Andrej Bako, g.bridle, Luuk Schr\u00f6der i Lindsay Seers.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;exposici\u00f3 <em>Disappearing Into One<\/em> gira entorn l&#8217;instant del truc de m\u00e0gia, el moment en qu\u00e8 se superposen nivells de realitat: vol\u00edem establir un di\u00e0leg entre obres que q\u00fcestionen la percepci\u00f3 de la realitat, ja sigui mitjan\u00e7ant all\u00f2 ling\u00fc\u00edstic (Nicole Bachmann, Damien Roach), l&#8217;espai (Erin Schirreff, Andrej Bako), all\u00f2 visual (Edgar Leciejewski, Ryan Gander) o mitjan\u00e7ant instal\u00b7lacions (Oliver Lee Terry, Laura Buckley).<\/p>\n<p>Per tal de generar una atmosfera inquietant, vam alterar el recorregut del visitant: primer es puja per una escala g\u00e8lida, fins arribar a una ampla graderia de fusta (on hi havia hagut el cor de l&#8217;esgl\u00e9sia metodista) i on ara hi ha nom\u00e9s tres obres. Des d&#8217;all\u00e0 s&#8217;observen, en el nivell inferior, altres peces. L&#8217;espectador troba a la primera sala set televisors, cadascun amb una progressi\u00f3 de color que mostra el p\u00edxel central dels films; una escultura d&#8217;acer i alumini amb un so d&#8217;interacci\u00f3 el\u00e8ctrica; reflexos imperceptibles dels finestrals, reflexos transparents a les parets.<\/p>\n<p>Abans de comen\u00e7ar el curs em preguntava si la universitat em podria ensenyar aquest ofici, m\u00e9s enll\u00e0 de la teoria, oferint eines per a la pr\u00e0ctica real. Dos anys enrere, durant la meva estada d&#8217;Erasmus a Dresden (Alemanya), vaig tenir l&#8217;oportunitat de cursar diverses assignatures relacionades amb museus de la ciutat. En una d&#8217;elles, coment\u00e0vem amb Ulrich Bischoff, director del museu Albertinum, l&#8217;exposici\u00f3 temporal <em>Das Vesprochene Land<\/em>-La terra promesa. Va ser extraordinari: el director del museu, aut\u00e8ntic apassionat de la seva col\u00b7lecci\u00f3, passejava cada dues setmanes amb nosaltres per l&#8217;exposici\u00f3, i cada alumne havia de descriure alguna obra, i nom\u00e9s despr\u00e9s, situar-la en el context de l&#8217;artista. Era un aut\u00e8ntic plaer, un proc\u00e9s real d&#8217;aprenentatge.<\/p>\n<p>De tornada a Barcelona, en canvi, vaig trobar a faltar propostes similars. \u00c9s cert que hi ha convocat\u00f2ries per a joves comissaris, com BCN Producci\u00f3 o Caja Madrid. No obstant aix\u00f2, el di\u00e0leg entre els centres acad\u00e8mics d\u2019art i humanitats i les institucions, museus o galeries, no est\u00e0 activat. Un dels aspectes m\u00e9s interessants de Goldsmiths \u00e9s que rep constants propostes per a estudiants: convocat\u00f2ries de pr\u00e0ctiques, propostes per a articles, workshops, confer\u00e8ncies, etc. El m\u00e0ster, m\u00e9s enll\u00e0 de ser un espai de formaci\u00f3 te\u00f2rica i d\u2019assaig, mant\u00e9 una viva i estimulant relaci\u00f3 amb l&#8217;exterior.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;exemple de Dresden indica que \u00e9s possible millorar les relacions entre centres d&#8217;ensenyament i museus fins i tot en ciutats petites. En aquest sentit, la voluntat de Testing Ground t\u00e9 el notori valor de donar sortida a joves comissaris i artistes. Elizabeth Neilson i Ellen Mara De Wachter, membres de l&#8217;equip de la galeria Zabludowicz i que van cursar un m\u00e0ster a Goldsmiths i al RCA, van observar que faltaven plataformes de pr\u00e0ctica i intercanvi, i el mateix equip de la galeria va apostar per aquests.<\/p>\n<p>Projectes com aquest em semblen extremadament necessaris. Les universitats estan plenes d&#8217;estudiants amb formaci\u00f3 i amb ganes de seguir aprofundint en la pr\u00e0ctica i en la teoria: per qu\u00e8 no confiar en el seu talent -el nostre- i ajudar-los a desenvolupar projectes? Davant d&#8217;una situaci\u00f3 tan desfavorable, no haur\u00edem d\u2019activar el di\u00e0leg mitjan\u00e7ant la nostra capacitat cr\u00edtica i auto-reflexiva?<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignleft size-full wp-image-7277\" src=\"http:\/\/a-desk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/4_400_300_px.jpg\" alt=\"b.
