Comissariada per Virginia Torrente, la selecci\u00f3 mostra vuit treballs d&#8217;altres tants artistes realitzats <em>site specific<\/em>, que busquen reflexionar sobre el present utilitzant el m\u00e8tode arqueol\u00f2gic. \u00c9s a dir, a trav\u00e9s de l&#8217;estudi del passat per\u00f2 tamb\u00e9 a partir dels vestigis del present. Els artistes seleccionats s&#8217;apropien de m\u00e8todes arqueol\u00f2gics i interpreten de forma personal successos hist\u00f2rics o esdeveniments concrets; m\u00e8tode que fou en el seu dia redefinit per Foucault a partir de &#8220;L&#8217;Arqueologia del saber&#8221;, en demostrar que la hist\u00f2ria, m\u00e9s que buscar la veritat del passat, treballa sobre una massa de documents que organitza, distribueix i ordena per construir un relat.<\/p>\n<p>La relaci\u00f3 entre art i arqueologia, aix\u00ed com entre art i antropologia no \u00e9s nova. Hal Foster va definir l\u2019any 1996 als artistes etn\u00f2grafs com els nous <em>fl\u00e2neur<\/em>: n\u00f2mades del segle XX. Un gir etnogr\u00e0fic en sintonia amb les pol\u00edtiques d&#8217;identitat dels anys 90, que van fer possible que sorgissin les pr\u00e0ctiques que unien all\u00f2 art\u00edstic amb all\u00f2 antropol\u00f2gic. Vuit anys despr\u00e9s, en el text &#8220;An Archival Impulse&#8221;, Foster definiria el sistema d&#8217;arxiu utilitzat pels artistes com una conseq\u00fc\u00e8ncia del desgast de l&#8217;art contemporani i la seva cr\u00edtica postmodernista, aix\u00ed com veia en ell una possibilitat d&#8217;obrir nous camins d&#8217;acci\u00f3. S\u00f3n molts els artistes que han utilitzat aquests m\u00e8todes, des de Robert Smithson i la seva <em>Hotel Palenque<\/em>, passant per Hans Haacke, fins a autors com Kader Attia i la seva obra presentada en la passada Documenta <em>La reparaci\u00f3 des d&#8217;Occident fins les culturals Extra-occidentals<\/em>. Un deute amb L\u00e9vi-Strauss, sens dubte. <\/p>\n<p>Qu\u00e8 pot aportar l&#8217;arqueologia a l&#8217;art contemporani? Quina \u00e9s la visi\u00f3, que des de l&#8217;art, es pot oferir d&#8217;aquestes disciplines? Qu\u00e8 aporta de nou aquesta exposici\u00f3?<\/p>\n<p>Des de l\u2019etnografia o l&#8217;alteritat, Mariana Castillo Deball exposa <em>Chinelo en el Matadero<\/em>: cinc vestits cosits per costureres a partir d&#8217;artesania tradicional de M\u00e8xic. Vestigis del passat que continuen en el present, per\u00f2 que aqu\u00ed perden, fora de context. El treball de l&#8217;espanyola Regina de Miguel explora la regi\u00f3 del desert d&#8217;Atacama a Xile, on conflueixen telescopis de Paranal i les m\u00f2mies Chinchorro. Daniel Guzm\u00e1n utilitza el treball de camp a partir del seu viatge a la ciutat de Paquim\u00e9 i recrea mitjan\u00e7ant una instal\u00b7laci\u00f3, m\u00e9s aviat un simulacre, el treball arqueol\u00f2gic all\u00e0 realitzat, on disposa a m\u00e9s tot tipus d&#8217;objectes quotidians. Diango Hern\u00e1ndez a <em>Lecciones de historia<\/em> aborda el tema del document, i introdueix dins d&#8217;una ru\u00efna artificial, amb sent\u00e8ncies mig esborrades de la hist\u00f2ria oficial cubana, m\u00e0scares africanes de Jos\u00e9 Guimaraes. Mark Dion en el seu <em>Oficina de objetos perdidos<\/em> recull objectes trobats a la ciutat de Madrid en diferents barris i els exposa en uns armaris dissenyats per tal fi. S\u00f3n deixalles contempor\u00e0nies que podem trobar tirades en qualsevol carrer, per\u00f2 al catalogar i documentar, adquireixen un valor &#8220;muse\u00edstic&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Christian Andersson treballa des de la ficci\u00f3. La seva instal\u00b7laci\u00f3 consisteix en una furgoneta blanca a l&#8217;interior de la qual projecta un fragment de la pel\u00b7l\u00edcula <em>On the beach<\/em>, una pel\u00b7l\u00edcula futurista que ens parla d&#8217;un futur que ja va passar i on apareixen escampats una s\u00e8rie d&#8217;objectes que se suposa que l&#8217;espectador ha de descodificar. Pedro Barateiro compon un diagrama amb llapis daurats que fa refer\u00e8ncia a les plantes dibuixades i restes arqueol\u00f2giques. Finalment, destaca l&#8217;obra de Francesc Ruiz per escapar del t\u00f2pic i presentar una investigaci\u00f3 sobre un c\u00f2mic er\u00f2tic, Sukia, que va tenir gran \u00e8xit als anys 70, sobre les aventures sexuals d&#8217;una vampiressa i el seu majordom gai.<\/p>\n<p>En principi, la iniciativa de reflexionar sobre l\u2019arqueologia des de l&#8217;art actual \u00e9s interessant, si no fos perqu\u00e8 la majoria de les obres recorren a la idea d&#8217;arqueologia i d\u2019antropologia a l&#8217;\u00fas, ja sigui mitjan\u00e7ant l&#8217;excavaci\u00f3, el treball de camp, la documentaci\u00f3 i l\u2019arxiu o el monument. La manca de profunditat d&#8217;algunes obres i la manca d&#8217;autocr\u00edtica, aix\u00ed com la desconnexi\u00f3 entre elles, fan que l&#8217;exposici\u00f3 sigui una mica decebedora.
