Si un t\u00e8xtil es trenca, es pot apeda\u00e7ar mitjan\u00e7ant sargit, una t\u00e8cnica que consisteix a entrella\u00e7ar fils verticalment i horitzontalment a trav\u00e9s del forat de la tela. Per ajudar-me a pensar en la interconnexi\u00f3 com una pr\u00e0ctica de remenar dins l&#8217;\u00e0mbit acad\u00e8mic, m&#8217;agradaria referir-me a la noci\u00f3 de <i>coneixement situat<\/i> de Donna Haraway, a la <i>pedagogia compromesa<\/i> de bell hooks i a l&#8217;enfocament tem\u00e0tic sobre el <i>coneixement encarnat<\/i> al curs d&#8217;estudis secundaris sobre Diversitat Cultural.<\/p>\n<p>En\u00a0 criticar la perspectiva de l&#8217;objectivitat cient\u00edfica, Haraway introdueix la situacionalitat per proposar que el coneixement sempre neix d&#8217;un context, situat en el temps i l&#8217;espai, i \u00e9s inconcebible sense una multitud de relacions; \u00e9s a dir, que el coneixement est\u00e0 entrella\u00e7at i entreteixit, no \u00e9s pas abstracte i separat. Per mi, l&#8217;encarnaci\u00f3 implica estar situada, cosa que descriu la condici\u00f3 fonamental de ser part del teixit de la vida.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;enfocament tem\u00e0tic de l&#8217;especialitzaci\u00f3 en Diversitat Cultural, on he impartit classes durant diversos anys, \u00e9s la noci\u00f3 de Coneixement(s) Encarnat(s). Molts cursos tenen un enfocament que intenta abordar problemes amplis i complexos \u2013per exemple, la pol\u00edtica global o la crisi clim\u00e0tica i la sostenibilitat\u2013, per\u00f2 passen per alt les implicacions quotidianes de com aquestes crisis ens afecten a nivell local i corporal. Generalment, s&#8217;espera que es produeixin treballs que tractin aquests temes amplis i complexos; tanmateix, els estudiants sovint se senten allunyats perqu\u00e8 no s&#8217;han fet palpables les connexions entre els vincles socials, comunitaris i personals. En el context educatiu del disseny, on es valoraven les abstraccions, sentia que els coneixements corporis no tenien cabuda a la meva feina. Per aix\u00f2, com a professora en pr\u00e0ctiques a l&#8217;Especialitzaci\u00f3 en Diversitat Cultural, sento l&#8217;obligaci\u00f3 personal de comen\u00e7ar on comencen els sentits \u2014\u00e9s a dir, als nostres cossos\u2014, indagant en com el cos organitza el nostre saber, sentir i ser, i, per extensi\u00f3, com aix\u00f2 configura la nostra comprensi\u00f3 de la manera com contemplem els nostres propis cossos i els dels altres. <span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_74389_1('footnote_plugin_reference_74389_1_4');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_74389_1('footnote_plugin_reference_74389_1_4');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_74389_1_4\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">[4]<\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_74389_1_4\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\"> Ibid. <\/span><\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_74389_1_4').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_74389_1_4', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top center', relative: true, offset: [-7, 0], });<\/script> Ens haur\u00edem d&#8217;esfor\u00e7ar m\u00e9s per legitimar la idea que \u00e9s perfectament v\u00e0lid que els estudiants derivin conceptes i idees de la seva experi\u00e8ncia del m\u00f3n mentre el cos est\u00e0 plenament comprom\u00e8s amb tots els seus sentits: corpori, cr\u00edtic i responsable.<\/p>\n<p>Una altra manera de veure all\u00f2 corpori \u00e9s a trav\u00e9s de la pedagogia compromesa de bell hooks: una comprensi\u00f3 de la totalitat que prioritza la relaci\u00f3 entre professors i estudiants, aix\u00ed com la interconnexi\u00f3 entre ment, cos i esperit. Aquest tipus de pedagogia aborda l&#8217;estudiant com un \u00e9sser hum\u00e0 integral que busca nodrir-se intel\u00b7lectualment i creativament, aix\u00ed com adquirir coneixements sobre com viure al m\u00f3n. Em va obligar a treure a la superf\u00edcie el que havia reprimit durant tant de temps. De vegades em refereixo a aquest moment com el despreniment d&#8217;una armadura, una que s&#8217;havia anat calcificant lentament des de la inf\u00e0ncia per protegir-me de l&#8217;exposici\u00f3 perllongada a experi\u00e8ncies doloroses.<\/p>\n<p>En els mesos posteriors a qu\u00e8 em traguessin l&#8217;armadura, el que vaig trobar a sota van ser ferides sense curar que s&#8217;havien anat acumulant i supurant durant uns trenta anys. Durant aquest temps, seguia ensenyant, per\u00f2 no treballava com abans. Una de les poques coses que podia fer era apeda\u00e7ar roba danyada: un barret amb mil forats, un su\u00e8ter oblidat, jaquetes que havia fet servir durant m\u00e9s d&#8217;una d\u00e8cada. Vaig tornar al meu primer amor, el t\u00e8xtil, cosa que mai abans havia perm\u00e8s que entr\u00e9s a la meva pr\u00e0ctica art\u00edstica i de disseny &#8220;seria&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>En el meu estat de fragilitat, apeda\u00e7ar i escriure al meu diari era tot per al que podia reunir energia. Em vaig refugiar als t\u00e8xtils i el text. Aqu\u00ed em refereixo a refugi en tots dos sentits de la paraula: un rec\u00e9s de seguir endavant i un refugi segur per descansar i recarregar energies. M\u00e9s tard, vaig aprendre que l&#8217;arrel de les paraules &#8220;text&#8221; i &#8220;t\u00e8xtil&#8221; prov\u00e9 del llat\u00ed texere, que significa teixir. Moltes expressions sobre l&#8217;escriptura provenen del m\u00f3n ric de la confecci\u00f3 de teles. Havia assumit que la confecci\u00f3 de teles succe\u00efa a la confecci\u00f3 de textos i no al rev\u00e9s, cosa que demostra el meu biaix internalitzat cap a l&#8217;intel\u00b7lecte sobre l&#8217;artesania. Encara que havia treballat amb t\u00e8xtils en el passat, els amagava al meu armari; treballar amb ells era una cosa que volia explorar seriosament, per\u00f2 em feia massa por que em jutgessin. Immersa en la creen\u00e7a que la roba i els t\u00e8xtils eren insignificants, femenins, superficials, massa comuns, sense autonomia i, D\u00e9u no ho vulgui, pol\u00edticament inefica\u00e7os, era la figura m\u00e9s cr\u00edtica amb mi mateixa.<\/p>\n<p>Per qu\u00e8 se sol menystenir el t\u00e8xtil i la moda com una forma de creaci\u00f3 menys important en l&#8217;educaci\u00f3 art\u00edstica i de disseny? \u00c9s perqu\u00e8 les arts t\u00e8xtils han estat feminitzades i restringides a l&#8217;\u00e0mbit dom\u00e8stic des de fa molt de temps? (S\u00ed, \u00f2bviament). L&#8217;artesania s&#8217;ha considerat com una forma de coneixement menys important per pert\u00e0nyer al coneixement t\u00e0cit? (S\u00ed, tamb\u00e9). Aquesta jerarquia de coneixements es reflecteix en els diferents contextos educatius en qu\u00e8 he estat. A Sydney, on vaig estudiar per primera vegada, la moda nom\u00e9s estava disponible com a carrera professional, mentre que el disseny i l&#8217;art s&#8217;impartien a nivell universitari.
