Un t\u00edtol especialment pertinent en les circumst\u00e0ncies en que s&#8217;ha organitzat la Biennal d&#8217;enguany. La nit abans de l&#8217;obertura al p\u00fablic es renovaven els enfrontaments als carrers de la ciutat, aquesta vegada a la riba asi\u00e0tica del B\u00f2sfor, passejant pels carrers de Kadik\u00f6y era inevitable inhalar el gas lacrimogen.<\/p>\n<p>El marc conceptual de la 13 Bienal d&#8217;Istanbul se centra en la conflu\u00e8ncia en l&#8217;espai p\u00fabic de transformacions i problem\u00e0tiques urban\u00edstiques, socials, pol\u00edtiques, ecol\u00f2giques i econ\u00f2miques, que en els darrer anys han afectat la ciutat i els seus habitants; i que s\u00f3n tema ineludible en el treball de molts artistes locals i d&#8217;arreu. Ressonen conceptes com gentrificaci\u00f3, agoraf\u00f2bia, perif\u00e8ria o site-specific. L&#8217;artista basca Maider L\u00f3pez ha disposat unes c\u00e0meres que transmeten en <em>streaming<\/em> la conviv\u00e8ncia de tr\u00e0fic i vianants a Karak\u00f6y, un punt especialment complicat de la ciutat. A la pantalla es descriuen els camins aparentment aleatoris dels que intenten creuar els carrers. Ho acompanya d&#8217;un \u201cmanual d&#8217;instruccions\u201d on el punt 2 diu \u201cwhen a system doesn&#8217;t fit, create new ways\u201d, -que podria ser tamb\u00e9 un bon t\u00edtol per a aquest text-.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;empla\u00e7ament geogr\u00e0fic d&#8217;Istanbul com a porta entre Europa i \u00c0sia li ha donat hist\u00f2ricament un paper privilegiat, conferint a la ciutat una situaci\u00f3 \u00fanica, a cavall entre les tradicions sostingudes i el canvi constant. Per aix\u00f2 la reflexi\u00f3 entorn de l&#8217;espai p\u00fablic i urb\u00e0 d&#8217;Istanbul no \u00e9s una novetat, anteriors edicions de la biennal ja han enfocat, des de diferents punts de vista, aquest an\u00e0lisi. Per\u00f2 en aquesta ocasi\u00f3 centrar-se en l&#8217;espai p\u00fablic comportava unes implicacions diferents. En un principi s&#8217;havia previst ocupar aquests espais, per\u00f2 en esclatar al mes de maig les lluites de Gezi Park i de la Pla\u00e7a Taksim, l&#8217;equip va haver de replantejar la forma d&#8217;aquesta exposici\u00f3. Els carrers ja eren aleshores un camp de batalla, ple de fum per\u00f2 tamb\u00e9 d&#8217;accions art\u00edstiques. Es va fer evident la contradicci\u00f3 d&#8217;actuar en funci\u00f3 d&#8217;uns permisos governamentals que estenen les mateixes mans que fan callar les protestes als carrers. Finalment l&#8217;equip curatorial va decidir no intervenir directament en l&#8217;espai p\u00fablic i confinar la seva pr\u00f2pia batalla entre els impecables murs blancs.<\/p>\n<p>El treball de Hito Steyerl citat a l&#8217;inici d&#8217;aquest text desplega una investigaci\u00f3 i una s\u00e8rie d&#8217;elucubracions sobre la relaci\u00f3 d&#8217;alguns dels sponsors que s\u00f3n productors d&#8217;armament amb la Biennal, convidant-nos a reflexionar sobre quin tipus d&#8217;armes s&#8217;utilitzen en cada camp de batalla.<\/p>\n<p>El fet que la biennal finalment tingui lloc en cinc espais expositius redueix les seves possibilitats, i confereix una mena de cat\u00e0leg d&#8217;artistes engag\u00e9es. Artistes i intel\u00b7lectuals han estat tamb\u00e9 v\u00edctimes en els enfrontaments de Taksim, la defensa de la llibertat d&#8217;expressi\u00f3 i de la cultura a la Turquia contempor\u00e0nia \u00e9s un tema nuclear en aquesta exposici\u00f3. \u201cSuspect\u201d de Guillaue Bijl \u00e9s la recreaci\u00f3 de l&#8217;estudi d&#8217;un artista despr\u00e9s de ser escorcollat per la policia. Carla Filipe exposa uns llibres vells als que el temps ha dibuixat els bonics caminets fets pels insectes menja-llibres, les formes precioses sobre el paper s\u00f3n, segons l&#8217;artista, la representaci\u00f3 de la degluci\u00f3 de la cultura per la natura. <\/p>\n<p>Entenc que la pregunta que proposa Hito Steyerl \u00e9s interessant, i quan m&#8217;acosto a la seva confer\u00e8ncia que t\u00e9 lloc en una de les galeries, no puc amb prou feines entrar a la sala, i decideixo marxar. Abans per\u00f2 recullo el text transcripci\u00f3 del seu discurs, i em trobo que nom\u00e9s existeix la versi\u00f3 en kurd. Pregunto per la versi\u00f3 anglesa per\u00f2 aparentment no existeix. El conflicte kurd \u00e9s encara avui en dia un dels conflictes m\u00e9s greus al pa\u00eds, la llengua kurda no \u00e9s reconeguda oficialment a l&#8217;estat turc i ha estat prohibida en moltes ocasions. <\/p>\n<p>Quina batalla es lliura a dins del museu?
