Independentment d&#8217;on es trobi, a diCorcia li interessen les persones. De l&#8217;\u00e0mbit familiar o simples transe\u00fcnts de l&#8217;esdevenir urb\u00e0 que converteix en protagonistes de situacions quotidianes. Els extreu de la realitat desemparada que els envolta per apropar-los de manera misteriosa i ambigua a l&#8217;espectador. Amb ells crea imatges teatrals que doten de certa notorietat al cl\u00e0ssic anonimat que caracteritza les masses. Els personatges atribolats de diCorcia, de mirades introspectives, absorts en la malenconia, en el buit o en l&#8217;estupefacci\u00f3 -dins d&#8217;un estrany marc de naturalitat transit\u00f2ria-, podrien ser els mateixos que habiten en els relats de Raymond Carver, en les pintures de Edward Hopper o en les pel\u00b7l\u00edcules d&#8217;Isabel Coixet o Lars von Trier.<\/p>\n<p>El que sembla un feix de llum accidental, s\u00f3n en realitat complexos sistemes d&#8217;il\u00b7luminaci\u00f3. diCorcia busca confondre&#8217;ns mentre vaticina la fi de la fotografia com a mitj\u00e0 realista. &#8220;Nom\u00e9s estic segur que tot el que veiem en el m\u00f3n \u00e9s engany\u00f3s, especialment en els mitjans. Treballo des de l&#8217;assumpci\u00f3 de que res \u00e9s nou ni real. Aquest escepticisme subratlla les meves estrat\u00e8gies tant com la recerca de qualsevol veritat objectiva&#8221;. Explica des del cat\u00e0leg. Per\u00f2, qu\u00e8 \u00e9s la realitat i qu\u00e8 la veritat objectiva?<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;estil documental en qu\u00e8 es mou diCorcia \u00e9s tan el\u00e0stic que en ell hi caben gaireb\u00e9 tots. Mentre aquest g\u00e8nere gaudeix d&#8217;una flexibilitat que de vegades desconcerta, el fotoperiodisme, per\u00f2, ha anat quedant pr\u00e0cticament relegat a entorns b\u00e8l\u00b7lics i\/o violents. No se sap ja qu\u00e8 hi ha de sinceritat o respecte a la fotografia documental actual -aquest calaix de sastre sense fons- i qu\u00e8 de burla permanent.<\/p>\n<p>Encara que \u00e9s la primera presentada a Europa, la breu retrospectiva de diCorcia, de nom\u00e9s 120 obres, ens sembla insuficient. El recorregut s&#8217;interromp al 2008, amb excepci\u00f3 d&#8217;un parell de fotos de 2011 i 2012; la resta \u00e9s material conegut. Present en els grans museus des dels 80, a les fotos de diCorcia els passa el mateix que a les de Nan Goldin: tothom les ha vist. Despr\u00e9s d&#8217;haver passat pel Schirn Kunsthalle de Frankfurt (comissariada per Katharina Dohm), a partir del 5 d&#8217;octubre l&#8217;exposici\u00f3 es podr\u00e0 veure al <a href=\"http:\/\/www.depont.nl\/nc\/en\/exhibitions\/program\/release\/pers\/philip-lorca-dicorcia\/\"> Museu De Pont &#8211; Tilburg<\/a> (Pa\u00efsos Baixos).<\/p>\n<p>La mostra es divideix en s\u00e8ries. Des dels seus treballs recents de \u201cEast of Eden\u201d (a partir de 2008) de paisatges naturals i urbans (que remeten a Robert Adams) i solitud <em>indoor<\/em>, avancem fins arribar als primers: \u201cA Storybook Life\u201d, batibull que aglutina treballs dels 70, 80 i 90; amics i familiars de la seva Hartford natal. Entremig \u201cStreet Work\u201d (d\u00e8cada dels 90): ombres, llums i vianants de Los Angeles, T\u00f2quio, Nova York  Par\u00eds, M\u00e8xic.<\/p>\n<p>El peu de les fotos de \u201cHustlers\u201d nom\u00e9s inclouen el nom del prostitut, edat, ciutat d&#8217;origen i preu en d\u00f2lars del clau, o el que diCordia va pagar per la sessi\u00f3. Reflexos i <em>spotlights<\/em> que ens traslladen als motels i <em>Diners<\/em> de Stephen Shore. El context sexual de l&#8217;escenari i la marginalitat evidencien l&#8217;altre somni (trencat) de Hollywood. La seva primera s\u00e8rie vertical, \u201cLucky 13\u201d (2004), retrata <em>streapers<\/em> de Las Vegas (un altre fot\u00f2graf atret pels baixos fons i les precarietats). I la memorable i pol\u00e8mica s\u00e8rie \u201cHeads\u201d (2001), composta de retrats &#8220;robats&#8221; de carrer, mostra persones an\u00f2nimes, a\u00efllades, abstretes, desprotegides i soles. Com qualsevol que no se sap observat.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;atzar juga un paper essencial en les composicions de diCordia, en qu\u00e8 es combinen all\u00f2 natural i l&#8217;artifici. En les seves fotos, pel que sembla, res \u00e9s el que sembla. Encara que la veritat \u00e9s que la realitat mateixa tampoc ho \u00e9s: &#8220;All\u00f2 veritable \u00e9s un moment de la falsedat&#8221;, perqu\u00e8 si b\u00e9 Guy Debord es referia als mitjans, com l&#8217;estil documental, tamb\u00e9 podem estirar fins abastar la fotografia i la quotidianitat. Aix\u00ed que no hauria d&#8217;estranyar-nos tant que la fotografia desvirtu\u00ef la realitat, perqu\u00e8 aquesta, al cap i a la fi, no \u00e9s m\u00e9s que una altra veritat a mitges.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Com tot fot\u00f2graf, Philip-Lorca diCorcia tamb\u00e9 vol fer del banal quelcom extraordinari.
