Els seus barris muden, es reinventen i moren a tota velocitat. L\u2019any 2011, l&#8217;est de la ciutat -fins aleshores connectat amb el centre nom\u00e9s per s\u00f2rdids autobusos- va estrenar una l\u00ednia de metro de nord a sud que el connecta directament amb la City. Immediatament despr\u00e9s, executius amb vestit-jaqueta van comen\u00e7ar a treure-hi el cap i a muntar botigues de bicicletes en aquests barris jamaicans.  Al decadent edifici on vaig viure al 2006 i al que em prevenia d&#8217;arribar acompanyada per la nit, han obert una gran botiga vintage a la planta baixa i al pub de la cantonada, aquell amb olor ranci de cervesa, ara forma part d\u2019una coneguda cadena de \u201cgastro pubs\u201d. La hist\u00f2ria de sempre, aquesta vegada vista des de la dist\u00e0ncia, i per qu\u00e8 no, amb certa nost\u00e0lgia.<\/p>\n<p>Londres \u00e9s un lloc fant\u00e0stic per a observar el neoliberalisme en tot el seu esplendor. All\u00e0, la confusi\u00f3 entre el passat i el present, el nou i el vell, es converteix en la millor mercaderia i l&#8217;alternatiu esdev\u00e9 mainstream a una velocitat vora\u00e7. El m\u00f3n de l&#8217;art es converteix en un exemple excel\u00b7lent per retratar aquesta situaci\u00f3, adquirint el seu m\u00e0xim esplendor durant el mes d&#8217;octubre gr\u00e0cies a Frieze, el London Film Festival i molts d\u2019altres esdeveniments que saturen a una ciutat ja normalment rica en oferta cultural. Com tota bona empresa creada sota el suport de capital financer, Frieze, que va comen\u00e7ar l\u2019any 1991 com a revista, s&#8217;ha convertit en una veritable corporaci\u00f3 que inclou una segona revista Frieze d\/e, publicada biling\u00fce alemany\/angl\u00e8s; dues fires, una a Londres i una altra a Nova York, i la Frieze Foundation, una fundaci\u00f3 que durant els dies de la fira produeix projectes art\u00edstics, un interessant programa de confer\u00e8ncies i sessions de cinema i de m\u00fasica.<\/p>\n<p>Els estands de la fira s&#8217;han convertit en el menys interessant, un passeig per un supermercat de l&#8217;art, de figures m\u00e9s o menys consolidades les instal\u00b7lacions i v\u00eddeos de les quals es converteixen en collages i polaroids. Tot i aix\u00f2, les entrades a la fira s&#8217;esgoten cada dia, aix\u00ed com ho fan les de les principals exposicions a la Tate Modern o les d&#8217;un concert de rock al Shepherds Bush Empire. Gr\u00e0cies a Saatchi i a les finances, a Londres l&#8217;art contemporani \u00e9s pop. Les grans galeries de la ciutat com Lisson o Hauser&#038;Wirth cada vegada tenen espais m\u00e9s grans i m\u00e9s seus a pa\u00efsos emergents, i la Serpentine Gallery inaugura un nou edifici al mateix Hyde Park amb una ampliaci\u00f3 realitzada per l&#8217;arquitecta estrella Zaha Hadid.<\/p>\n<p>I quan el mercat de l&#8217;art contemporani -com el de qualsevol producte de luxe- es torna mainstream ha de reinventar-se per tornar a adquirir la d&#8217;exclusivitat. \u00c9s d&#8217;aquesta manera com, quan ja s&#8217;ha rebentat taquilla, Frieze esdev\u00e9 museu. L\u2019any 2013 \u00e9s el segon any de l&#8217;aclamada Frieze Masters, una segona fira a deu minuts caminant del pavell\u00f3 principal de Frieze que recull &#8220;als grans mestres amb una mirada contempor\u00e0nia&#8221;. Spotlight \u00e9s una secci\u00f3 comissariada per Adriano Pedrosa que recull un conjunt de galeries que presenten grans estands dedicats a un \u00fanic artista hist\u00f2ric, intentant fugir dels cl\u00e0ssics del pante\u00f3 occidental conceptual-minimalista. Mentre els comissaris i els artistes es delecten amb la qualitat muse\u00edstica de les peces, la sacrosanta hist\u00f2ria de l&#8217;art no amaga la seva condici\u00f3 de mercaderia. A m\u00e9s de per esnobisme, Frieze Masters triomfa perqu\u00e8 desplega una infinitat de referents, mestres i fetitxes per a tots els gustos. L&#8217;art de les tribus del pac\u00edfic conviuen amb obres de la pionera feminista Judy Chicago, Rembrandts, fotografies de l&#8217;afric\u00e0 Malick Sibid\u00e9, Gerhard Richters i rayogrames de Man Ray. Tot ben disposat, sense estrid\u00e8ncies, i sense haver de donar la volta al m\u00f3n per veure&#8217;l. Un fant\u00e0stic cas d&#8217;estudi sobre els nous camins de la l\u00f2gica cultural del capitalisme tard\u00e0.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Londres mai deixa de sorprendre\u2019m.
