Cristina Lucas presenta a Matadero de Madrid una mostra, comissariada per Manuela Villa, el t\u00edtol de la qual, <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mataderomadrid.org\/ficha\/2695\/cristina-lucas-%7C-es-capital.html\">Es capital<\/a><\/em>, \u00e9s una resposta contundent a una s\u00e8rie d&#8217;interrogants que l&#8217;artista planteja, i que es tradueix en una investigaci\u00f3 i una tasca documental, no exempta d&#8217;ironia i sarcasme, sobre com el capitalisme ha enva\u00eft totes i cadascuna de les esferes de la vida.<\/p>\n<p><em>Capitalismo filos\u00f3fico<\/em> consta de nou projeccions de v\u00eddeo en qu\u00e8 Cristina Lucas entrevista a diferents professionals que treballen en diferents \u00e0mbits empresarials. No \u00e9s la primera vegada que l&#8217;artista utilitza la meye\u00fatica, pregunta i resposta, com a m\u00e8tode. Ho ha utilitzat en treballs anteriors com a <em>M\u00e1s luz<\/em> (2003), <em>Soldados.com<\/em> (2007), i a <em>Quid pro quo<\/em> (2010). A Domin\u00f3 Can\u00edbal, a M\u00farcia, va obligar als periodistes que la entrevistaven a convertir-se ells mateixos en els entrevistats, per con\u00e8ixer la seva opini\u00f3 sobre la cr\u00edtica d&#8217;art. En aquesta ocasi\u00f3, deixa de banda l&#8217;especulaci\u00f3 filos\u00f2fica per indagar en com conceptes com l&#8217;art, la veritat, la just\u00edcia, la por, la vida, el temps o el dolor, s\u00f3n avui reelaborats i ajustats sense massa resist\u00e8ncia a la llei de oferta i demanda, i en com s\u00f3n legitimats pel m\u00f3n empresarial.<\/p>\n<p>Qu\u00e8 \u00e9s l&#8217;art per als galeristes i les cases de subhastes?; La bellesa per a un cirurgi\u00e0 pl\u00e0stic?; El temps per a un fabricant de rellotges?; La por per a una asseguradora?; El dolor per a una empresa farmac\u00e8utica?; la veritat per a un notari? O la vida per a una cl\u00ednica de fertilitat? Podem imaginar moltes de les respostes, tot i aix\u00ed resulten xocants, quan no punxants, algunes d&#8217;elles: &#8220;sense por no hi ha diners&#8221;; &#8220;l&#8217;objectiu del m\u00e0rqueting \u00e9s crear noves necessitats&#8221;; &#8220;la bellesa \u00e9s poder i possessi\u00f3&#8221;; &#8220;el temps \u00e9s l&#8217;organitzaci\u00f3 capitalista de la societat&#8221;, o &#8220;no hi ha just\u00edcia, en tant que les rendes del capital gaireb\u00e9 no tributen&#8221;. En el cas de l&#8217;art ens trobem amb vaguetats apel\u00b7lant la seva impossible definici\u00f3, tot i que els interrogats pertanyen tamb\u00e9 al m\u00f3n empresarial, a galeries i a cases de subhastes.<\/p>\n<p>La conclusi\u00f3 de l&#8217;artista davant de tanta pregunta \u00e9s contundent: tot \u00e9s cabdal. Una l\u00f2gica aclaparadora de la qual ni Karl Marx ha aconseguit escapar, tot i haver pronosticat que &#8220;l&#8217;acumulaci\u00f3 de plusv\u00e0lua es convertiria en la finalitat \u00faltima i \u00fanica de la humanitat&#8221;. <em>Plusv\u00e0lua<\/em> \u00e9s una pe\u00e7a en v\u00eddeo que documenta la investigaci\u00f3 realitzada per l&#8217;artista sobre el periple dels manuscrits de Marx des del moment en qu\u00e8 van ser escrits fins que s\u00f3n posats al mercat i adquirits per una instituci\u00f3 holandesa a un preu desorbitat. Ironies del capitalisme, l&#8217;obra de Marx, en les p\u00e0gines ell mateix va anticipar el que podia passar, acaba esdevenint en fetitxe despr\u00e9s d&#8217;un complex proc\u00e9s cultural i social; lluny va estar segur Marx d&#8217;imaginar el que passaria amb els seus manuscrits.<\/p>\n<p>Qu\u00e8 hi ha darrere dels diners avui? Fins a quin punt \u00e9s avui el diner fictici? <em>Muntanya d&#8217;or<\/em> s\u00f3n dues fotografies en gran format que representen la totalitat de l&#8217;or que hi ha emmagatzemat a la Reserva del Banc d&#8217;Espanya. Aquest metall va regular durant el segle XIX i fins al 1971 que un pa\u00eds pogu\u00e9s emetre m\u00e9s moneda que la recolzada per la quantitat d&#8217;or que posse\u00efa. L&#8217;or \u00e9s fotografiat per l&#8217;artista com si d&#8217;una rel\u00edquia es tract\u00e9s, per recordar-nos la volatilitat del sistema financer actual, en qu\u00e8 la circulaci\u00f3 de la majoria de les monedes est\u00e0 determinada pel mercat. Economia no ja l\u00edquida, sin\u00f3 gasosa.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;\u00faltima de les peces, <em>El superbien com\u00fan<\/em>, \u00e9s potser la m\u00e9s sarc\u00e0stica. Es tracta d&#8217;una s\u00e8rie de cinc caixes de llum on l&#8217;artista retrata fam\u00edlies asi\u00e0tiques de classe alta que aspiren a un m\u00f3n de moda i articles de luxe. L&#8217;artista ironitza com aquest m\u00f3n de luxe est\u00e0 molt lluny de ser &#8220;com\u00fa&#8221; i la contradicci\u00f3, inherent al capitalisme, entre la limitaci\u00f3 de recursos disponibles i el desig il\u00b7limitat de posseir de certes classes privilegiades. Mentre molts s&#8217;esforcen a defensar un &#8220;b\u00e9 com\u00fa&#8221; per a tots, altres s&#8217;entesten a mantenir un &#8220;superb\u00e9 com\u00fa&#8221; nom\u00e9s accessible per a uns pocs, en un sistema on la cobd\u00edcia \u00e9s un impuls econ\u00f2mic i on el desig fetitxista est\u00e0 lligat a l&#8217;afectiu.
