De vegades aquestes pol\u00e8miques s\u00f3n fruit de neglig\u00e8ncies i conting\u00e8ncies que desvetllen l&#8217;intricat subs\u00f2l ideol\u00f2gic sobre el qual s&#8217;assenta la ind\u00fastria cultural. El Guggenheim Bilbao ha protagonitzat a principis del mes d&#8217;abril una pol\u00e8mica amb nom\u00e9s transcend\u00e8ncia medi\u00e0tica en el seu context local. Traient Facebook com a lloc d&#8217;aireig, no s\u00f3n molts els mitjans ni les persones assabentades de la retirada d&#8217;una obra d&#8217;art p\u00fablic dels artistes Mike Bouchet i Paul McCarthy en ple centre de la Gran Via de Bilbao.<\/p>\n<p>La not\u00edcia ha tingut per\u00f2, m\u00e9s impacte a nivell mundial gr\u00e0cies als servidors ARTNET i The Art Newspaper i tamb\u00e9 a mitjans com The Wall Street Journal. En els seus titulars s&#8217;ha pogut llegir ressaltada la paraula &#8220;censura&#8221;. Ha estat la galeria de Bouchet, Marlborough Chelsea (Nova York), la qual ha &#8220;filtrat&#8221; la not\u00edcia als mitjans aix\u00ed com fotografies de l&#8217;obra en la qual es pot veure una imatge de l&#8217;emblem\u00e0tica arquitectura de Frank Gehry cap per avall flanquejada amb canons en totes les direccions com si fos un vaixell de guerra. Aquesta galeria ha revelat detalls de la resposta donada pel museu, per mitj\u00e0 del seu Assessoria Jur\u00eddica i Control Intern, on es justifica la retirada del vinil gegant detallant que les connotacions d&#8217;aquesta imatge desacrediten la instituci\u00f3 alhora que s&#8217;advertia que el Guggenheim t\u00e9 registrada la marca de l&#8217;edifici (sota un llei espanyola), i que per tant t\u00e9 dret a aprovar o rebutjar les imatges que es publiquen del museu.<\/p>\n<p>Tot va comen\u00e7ar quan un ve\u00ed de Bilbao es va queixar al diari local m\u00e9s llegit del gran tendal que cobria les bastides de l&#8217;edifici n\u00famero 31 de la Gran Via. Intel\u00b7ligentment, en estar invertida la imatge, aquesta nom\u00e9s era perceptible des de certa dist\u00e0ncia. El museu va ordenar retirar la lona el dia 9 d&#8217;abril, i en menys de dos dies va acabar enrotllada. Quan el museu va manar executar l&#8217;ordre, desconeixia qui estava darrere de l&#8217;assumpte. L&#8217;obra en q\u00fcesti\u00f3 era una extensi\u00f3 de l&#8217;exposici\u00f3 que Bouchet i McCarthy tenen en Portikus de Frankfurt, i on els artistes introdueixen diversa iconografia de guerra criticant l&#8217;imperialisme americ\u00e0 i els museus franqu\u00edcia com a cuirassats que conquereixen territoris.<\/p>\n<p>Els artistes (se suposa que amb l&#8217;ajuda de les seves respectives galeries, a sumar la potent Hauser &#038; Wirth McCarthy) van llogar aquest espai vacant a Bilbao per mitj\u00e0 d&#8217;una ag\u00e8ncia de m\u00e0rqueting, en una operaci\u00f3 d&#8217;altra banda molt en sintonia amb les maneres de la publicitat del capitalisme m\u00e9s multinacional que ells pretenen denunciar. D\u00f3na la casualitat tamb\u00e9 que McCarthy ha exposat dues vegades al museu bilba\u00ed, dins la Col\u00b7lecci\u00f3 Daskalopoulos (2011), i en la col\u00b7lectiva <em>Barroc Exuberant; de Cattelan a Zurbar\u00e1n<\/em> (2013).<\/p>\n<p>No \u00e9s la primera vegada que la pol\u00edtica de drets d&#8217;imatge del Guggenheim \u00e9s objecte de debat, encara que l&#8217;estudi de l&#8217;arquitecte no tingui a veure en aix\u00f2. Es tracta m\u00e9s del copyright de la &#8220;marca Guggenheim&#8221;. El prendre\u2019s massa seriosament una legislaci\u00f3 pot conduir a situacions hilarants, sin\u00f3 absurdes. L&#8217;artista emblem\u00e0tica de la Cr\u00edtica Institucional Andrea Fraser explica al seu llibre <em>Museum Highlights<\/em> alguns dels secrets de la realitzaci\u00f3 del v\u00eddeo <em>Little Frank and his Carp<\/em> (2001), realitzat utilitzant les \u00e0udio-guies del museu de Bilbao, aix\u00ed com imatges del seu interior preses sense perm\u00eds. Fraser es referia als avantatges que ella obtenia per ser una artista amb certa reputaci\u00f3 en l&#8217;\u00e0mbit de l&#8217;art internacional, mentre denunciava que el privilegi a la seva exempci\u00f3 no s&#8217;aplicava a un artista local (Fausto Grossi), que regentava un restaurant de pasta pr\u00f2xim al museu, i qui al poc d&#8217;instal\u00b7lar-se rebia una carta dels advocats del museu instigant al fet que deix\u00e9s de servir un tipus de macarr\u00f3 vagament inspirat en la famosa arquitectura ic\u00f2nica. Podem fer-nos una idea de la dist\u00e0ncia que separa una pasta cuita d&#8217;una arquitectura de titani sublim com perqu\u00e8 la primera es converteixi en una amena\u00e7a.<\/p>\n<p>El sistema de l&#8217;art es caracteritza per la t\u00edpica posici\u00f3 liberal permissiva que permet que es pugui criticar el joc mentre es juga. No cal retrocedir a Duchamp i la seva Monalisa amb bigotis per assegurar-nos que la negaci\u00f3 i l&#8217;atac a l&#8217;art poden eixamplar els l\u00edmits del museu i la instituci\u00f3-art. La Cr\u00edtica Institucional, encara que com en el cas de Bouchet i McCarthy vingui revestida d&#8217; immoderaci\u00f3, exc\u00e9s i par\u00f2dia, \u00e9s millor deglutir-la i assumir-la com a part del mecanisme intern per tal d&#8217;evitar situacions de rid\u00edcul mundial i el descr\u00e8dit en el propi m\u00f3n de l&#8217;art.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>La ventilaci\u00f3 d&#8217;esc\u00e0ndols medi\u00e0tics al m\u00f3n de l&#8217;art est\u00e0 moltes vegades aparellada a interessos de poder.
