Carlos Ishikawa, Londres\" align=\"left\" width=\"670\" height=\"446\" srcset=\"https:\/\/a-desk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/The_Hawker_at_Carlos_Ishikawa.jpg 670w, https:\/\/a-desk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/The_Hawker_at_Carlos_Ishikawa-595x396.jpg 595w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 670px) 100vw, 670px\" \/><br \/>\nFa unes setmanes vaig assistir a la inauguraci\u00f3 de <em>The Hawker<\/em>, una exposici\u00f3 col\u00b7lectiva a la galeria Carlos\/Ishikawa de Londres en col\u00b7laboraci\u00f3 amb la galeria D\u00e9pendance (Brussel\u00b7les) en la qual es van mostrar peces dels m\u00e9s de 30 artistes que representen en total. En entrar a l&#8217;espai, intensament il\u00b7luminat amb neons blancs, els meus ulls es van topar amb tal acumulaci\u00f3 d&#8217;est\u00edmuls visuals que vaig trigar una bona estona a entendre qu\u00e8 tenia davant. Mantes grises i fundes de pl\u00e0stic blaves, materials que s&#8217;utilitzen per cobrir i transportar obres d&#8217;art, s&#8217;havien desplegat pel terra de la galeria, i unes 50 obres d&#8217;art, incloent escultura, pintura i fotografia, s&#8217;havien col\u00b7locat sobre elles, acompanyades per caixes de cartr\u00f3 plenes de cat\u00e0legs i llibres i alguna escultura recolzada a la paret. El resultat era el d&#8217;un aut\u00e8ntic mercat en qu\u00e8, en lloc de quincalla, vinils de segona m\u00e0 i restes oblidades de vaixelles, un podia gaudir de fant\u00e0stiques obres de Jana Euler, Karl Holmqvist, Harald Thys &#038; Jos de Gruyter, Nora Schultz o Josef Strau entre d&#8217;altres.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;exposici\u00f3 em va captivar, i no nom\u00e9s per la qualitat de les peces i artistes exposats, si no pel seu sorprenent dispositiu de <em>display<\/em>, optant sense embuts per la quantitat i utilitzant el s\u00f2l per mostrar obres que habitualment corresponen a parets i necessiten molt m\u00e9s espai entre elles. Aquest <em>display<\/em> de &#8220;mercat&#8221;, aquesta tremenda acumulaci\u00f3 d&#8217;informaci\u00f3 i objectes, no \u00e9s, per\u00f2, tant nova com podria semblar a primera vista, sin\u00f3 una metodologia recurrent en molts i celebrats artistes contemporanis. No gaire lluny de Carlos\/Ishikawa, per exemple, a la Chisenhale Gallery, l&#8217;artista francesa Camille Henrot mostrava la seva primera exposici\u00f3 monogr\u00e0fica a Londres despr\u00e9s de l&#8217;aclaparador \u00e8xit del seu v\u00eddeo <em>Grosse Fatigue<\/em> (2013). A <em>The Pale Fox<\/em> (2014), Henrot plantejava una altra enorme instal\u00b7laci\u00f3 d&#8217;objectes, artefactes i llibres, en la qual les taxonomies de coneixement material i immaterial, objectes trobats i peces esculpides, imatge digital i dibuix a m\u00e0, es desdibuixen, s&#8217;equiparen i acumulen amb obstinada avidesa, com si l&#8217;artista volgu\u00e9s devorar el m\u00f3n, con\u00e8ixer-ho tot. Henrot va prendre com a punt de partida un antic estudi antropol\u00f2gic de la tribu africana Dogon, per als quals la figura de la &#8220;guineu blanca&#8221; representa tant el caos com la creaci\u00f3, i que per a l&#8217;artista simbolitza com l&#8217;exc\u00e9s material pot ser reciclat i productiu de nou, generant noves formes de coneixement.<\/p>\n<p>Unes setmanes abans la galeria Sadie Cols HQ havia inaugurat el seu enorme nou espai al centre de Londres amb una exposici\u00f3 de l&#8217;artista Helen Marten, que malgrat la seva joventut (va n\u00e9ixer al 1985) s&#8217;ha consagrat ja com una de les escultores m\u00e9s destacades de la seva generaci\u00f3 i que, al costat d&#8217;artistes com Jack Lavender o Richard Sides, comparteix una absoluta fascinaci\u00f3 per la cultura material, creant escultures acumulatives i repetitives que aconsegueixen, simult\u00e0niament, la devaluaci\u00f3 i l&#8217;exacerbaci\u00f3 total de l&#8217;objecte.<\/p>\n<p>Un dels aspectes m\u00e9s interessant d&#8217;aquests artistes \u00e9s com duen a terme una transposici\u00f3 objectual (via escultura i instal\u00b7laci\u00f3) del ja cl\u00e0ssic tema de la saturaci\u00f3 i disseminaci\u00f3 d&#8217;imatges en el paisatge contemporani, normalment explorat a trav\u00e9s de mitjans com la fotografia o el v\u00eddeo. Per\u00f2 els seus treballs no s\u00f3n meres reaccions al bombardeig constant de dades i objectes de consum, sin\u00f3 que s&#8217;inscriuen dins d&#8217;una tradici\u00f3 hist\u00f2rica d&#8217;investigaci\u00f3 sobre la cultura material i subversi\u00f3 del tradicional &#8220;cub blanc&#8221; expositiu que parteix dels <em>Merzbau<\/em> de Kurt Schwitters, els <em>happenings<\/em> i <em>environments<\/em> d&#8217;Allan Kaprow o les instal\u00b7lacions de Paul Thek, i que dialoga, alhora, amb exponents de la m\u00e9s recent escultura &#8220;anti-monumental&#8221;
