Me refiero a <a href=\"http:\/\/academia.edu\/\">Academia.edu<\/a>, la web que permite hacerte un perfil y acto seguido subir textos de todo tipo en formato word y pdf. Descrita en alguna parte como el \u201cFacebook de los <em>nerds<\/em>\u201d, esta red social cuenta ya con 1.5 millones de <em>papers<\/em> subidos. Su acceso es restringido a los miembros. Con motores de b\u00fasqueda en Google y mediante <em>tags<\/em> y otros recursos web (estar en Facebook es un <em>must<\/em>), Academia.edu permite hacer un seguimiento de cu\u00e1les son los textos m\u00e1s \u201cvistos\u201d, de d\u00f3nde vienen las consultas, etc. <em>Analytics <\/em> al poder. Huelga decir que esta red social en boga es una herramienta adecuada para la \u201cinvestigaci\u00f3n\u201d, sobre todo cuando se refiere al dominio tradicional de las artes y las letras. <\/p>\n<p>El inter\u00e9s de Academia.edu reside no ya en compartir los frutos de a\u00f1os de investigaci\u00f3n sino en la creaci\u00f3n de un <em>network<\/em> donde cuenta m\u00e1s el propio medio y la conectividad que la lectura propiamente. De hecho, es el medio perfecto para la pasividad y el voyeurismo.<br \/>\nQuiz\u00e1s tambi\u00e9n por ello, un peque\u00f1o icono de ojo marca cada <em>paper<\/em> ojeado, que no le\u00eddo. El deseo de controlar al otro es proporcional al deseo de que los dem\u00e1s tengan acceso a nuestras fuentes, en definitiva, de que nos controlen. El deseo es de ida y vuelta. Como un Facebook intelectual, Academia.edu no es el espacio donde la educaci\u00f3n aspira a redimirse del contrato social que la ata a los poderes econ\u00f3micos y pol\u00edticos, sino m\u00e1s bien la prolongaci\u00f3n de ese espacio de mercado que es tambi\u00e9n la academia y la universidad. Un espacio, \u00e9ste, que ya no est\u00e1 restringido al aula sino que est\u00e1 expandido por los cuerpos (en sinton\u00eda con aquel paso de las sociedades disciplinarias a las de control descrita por Foucault). La academia es ahora refugio y no un espacio del que se desea salir a toda costa. Educaci\u00f3n perpetua, sin fin. Nunca estamos lo suficientemente preparados, etc. \u00bfAcaso la \u00faltima ilusi\u00f3n neoliberal?<\/p>\n<p>Roland Barthes escribi\u00f3 en 1972 un texto que titul\u00f3 \u201cLos j\u00f3venes investigadores\u201d en donde expon\u00eda las constantes divisiones a las que se enfrentan los estudiantes. Su labor est\u00e1 marcada por la improductividad. El investigador (interpretemos todo esto con perspectiva) est\u00e1 socialmente excluido y su labor est\u00e1 abocada a la represi\u00f3n de los discursos; el de la cientificidad (la Ley) por un lado y, por otra parte, el deseo, la escritura. Barthes recomienda que el trabajo de investigaci\u00f3n est\u00e9 inserto en el deseo. Si no es as\u00ed, el trabajo es moroso, funcional, alienado, movido por la pura necesidad. En este sentido, las tesis son discursos reprimidos. Y escribe: \u201cEs necesario que la investigaci\u00f3n deje de ser ese parsimonioso trabajo que se desarrolla ya sea en la \u2018conciencia\u2019 del investigador (forma dolorosa, autista, del mon\u00f3logo), ya sea en ese miserable vaiv\u00e9n que convierte al \u2018director\u2019 de una investigaci\u00f3n en su \u00fanico lector. Es necesario que la investigaci\u00f3n alcance la circulaci\u00f3n an\u00f3nima del lenguaje, la dispersi\u00f3n del Texto\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Como toda herramienta del capitalismo tard\u00edo, cognitivo e inmaterial, Academia.edu es otro producto ambivalente capaz de cambiar sus valencias y convertirse en un instrumento para la producci\u00f3n social (de dispersi\u00f3n de texto) o de control social. Barthes deja caer que la toma de conciencia de que <em>esto circula<\/em> es la divisa de toda escritura.
