A*DESK has been offering since 2002 contents about criticism and contemporary art. A*DESK has become consolidated thanks to all those who have believed in the project, all those who have followed us, debating, participating and collaborating. Many people have collaborated with A*DESK, and continue to do so. Their efforts, knowledge and belief in the project are what make it grow internationally. At A*DESK we have also generated work for over one hundred professionals in culture, from small collaborations with reviews and classes, to more prolonged and intense collaborations.

At A*DESK we believe in the need for free and universal access to culture and knowledge. We want to carry on being independent, remaining open to more ideas and opinions. If you believe in A*DESK, we need your backing to be able to continue. You can now participate in the project by supporting it. You can choose how much you want to contribute to the project.

You can decide how much you want to bring to the project.

.

Where does artistic research come from and where is it going? But… what really is it? Coming to the end of the first itinerary in the Study Programme at A*DESK 2012-2013, we’ve undertaken the task of mapping out the concepts that we’ve been working on with each of the people who have visited us over these last two months.

It’s not been just a few visits, and they’ve been very varied. We’ve talked to curators, directors, artists and anthropologists, who in turn have talked about endless projects, experiences and concepts. In our cartography we’ve endeavoured to find a place for each one and the relations that were established between them, the concepts and this structure called the “art world”. Despite the density of the task, we’ve finally ascertained a range of questions that, if they don’t offer specific answers, it is precisely because questions are what we need to turn this world round.

We invite you to experience the results, that in turn, are also research (or meta-research), that we wanted to conclude by opening a form of archive-exhibition and if possible a conversation with all of you and the protagonists of the story: Eloy Fernández Porta, Octavi Rofes, Andrés Hispano, Manuel Segade, Tere Badia, Marta García, Oriol Vilanova, Cristian Añó, Sinapsis, Mery Cuesta, Antonio Ortega and Tirdad Zolghadr.
