Go Digital, Go Home!
With the Covid crisis, we are being forced to digitize at full speed as if the Internet were the miracle balm that will rescue us from the present quagmire. From a philosophical reflection and from particular examples of artistic practice, the workshop will deal with topics such as: the digital vs. the analogical, the weight of “the cloud”, the phenomenon of the screen, the economy of attention, the viral, the post-internet, interpassivity, the lessons of performance, the hacker artist, etc.

This online workshop has been conceived and will be held by the artist Andrés Galeano.
OBJETIVES
The aim of this workshop is to analyze the consequences of this new digital paradigm in the artistic context, pointing out both its traps and its enormous creative potential. Think jointly and critically about digitalization, how it affects artistic practices and how to be creative with new technologies.
METHODOLOGY
Presentations will be made by the participants during the webinar, as well as by the tutor, Andrés Galeano. Examples will be seen and the material will be analyzed. There will also be practical exercises between the sessions and final conclusions will be drawn at the end of the two sessions.

The workshop is open to anyone who wants to think jointly and critically about digitalization, how it affects artistic practices and how to be creative with new technologies.

ABOUT ANDRÉS GALEANO
Andrés Galeano (Mataró, 1980) graduated in Philosophy from the UB Barcelona, in Photography from the FFS Stuttgart and in Fine Arts from the KHB Berlin. His work is interdisciplinary and encompasses media such as photography, video, installation and performance. His projects have been shown in Europe, USA, Canada and Latin America in institutions such as: Fundação Portuguesa das Comunicações (Lisboa), Canal Isabel II y La Casa Encendida (Madrid), Arts Santa Mònica y Fabra i Coats (Bcn), Kunsthall Charlotenborg (Copenhage), De Appel (Amsterdam), Photo London, AIPAD (NYC), Künstlerhaus Bethanien (Berlín), Riga Photography Biennial.
Andrés Galeano lives in Berlin.
